Hit and miss. I ate here twice. The first time I had a solid pasta and fritti. The second time the bresaola salad was good (but this dish is obviously more about ingredients than the cook's skill). But we were also served a 'Caesar' salad with no dressing. We questioned this and were provided a small tub of something heavy in mayonnaise but not quite a Caesar dressing either. Then we ordered tiramisu, at which point the kitchen really went into the ditch.
We happened to sit next to the kitchen so we had the pleasure of overhearing the cooks debating amongst themselves how to prepare a tiramisu, as they had none available and apparently no one knew how to make one (I happen to know it takes a few hours of prep to soak the biscuits). The words ricotta were uttered, which caused some concern (supposed to be mascarpone by all accounts). In the end, we were served a cup of custard, with a dry biscuit in the bottom and chocolate sprinkles on top. We sent it back. To their credit there was only minor protest about this, and we only had to send the bill back once after the tiramisu turned out to be charged nevertheless.
Clearly someone in the kitchen knows how to cook but unfortunately a few people also do not. I wouldn't risk it again at...
Read moreWe ate here several days ago once because it was close to our hotel. It was one of our first meals on Rome, so we asked for "tap water" instead of "bottled water" and got a story from our waitress that "it's prohibited to serve tap water in the city of Rome because of the health concerns". Yeah, right. As I found out later, almost no restaurant in Rome will serve tap water because they would rather charge your for bottled water. It has nothing to do with health concerns. All locals fill up water bottles in drinking fountains around the city.
Made a mistake of returning for dinner last night because it's close to our hotel, and was told that "they were full" even though the place was practically empty. The person was pretty rude about it too. That was the weirdest thing that ever happened to us. A half empty restaurant made no attempt to accommodate us, and more or less kicked us out. Anyway, we ended up having a lovely dinner in .075 cafe next door.
Will never return to this place. I'd avoid it unless you want to be lied to or not get served at all for...
Read moreI can say confidently it is the WORST restaurant in Rome. Please be careful not to be mocked and not to be deceived by them like us
they deceived our party as if vegetables is included in steak menu. when we ordered steak, they asked us "potatoes or vegetable?". So we really naturally thought that it was included side of the steak.(there was NOT any notification about the fact IT COSTS) but at the moment right after paying the bill, we noticed that it costed 7£(it wasnt worth even 3£) So we explained our feeling and asked if we can get refund for that vegetables.
but all we could hear was just their repeated answers like "it's on the menu plate. look at it! it costs 7£" So we called the manager, then he gave us our money back with SO MANY 20CENTS COINS.
what we really wanted was just a sincere understanding. not that 7£. but they repeated one way excuses and finally they mocked us in really bad way. We gave them a chance to make it right but they didn't accept it.
So please be careful to not be mocked and not to be...
