Hidden gem nested near the Colosseum, an absolute joy taking a retreat here from the long walks nearby 😊

The service staff was very friendly, showed us around the store on what they specialise in, and even gave us 2 breads to munch on!

☕️ the ginger coffee was one of the best coffee I ever had, I wasn’t expecting a black coffee and was shocked at how good it was - not too acidic, but smell and tasted really good!

🍹 the santeo spritz was good, not too heavy on the alcohol and refreshing for the sunny day

Macarons were superb and very affordable, great for a tea time treat!

🍪 cookie was okay, not too sweet which was appreciated after having much gelatos here in Italy

Un santo dedicato ai dolci non figura nella lista ufficiale dei santi, come è ovvio. Quindi per il santo omonimo di questa pasticceria, l’unica coincidenza è quella di essere in Via di San Teodoro e quindi, se così fosse, i titolari non si sono spremuti più di tanto le meningi. sanTeo è, comunque, un evento che ha del miracoloso perché a livello qualità rasenta quasi il top, specialmente con i dolci che sono a furor di popolo i veri protagonisti. Tanto è vero che occupano la poule position: appena entrati il bancone sulla destra dove sono esposti in bell’ordine fila per fila come fossero dei soldatini “in alta uniforme” buoni…perché sono solo da mangiare. Vi fanno bella mostra anche i macarones. A seguire il banco della caffetteria (dove si possono consumare le bevande copyright), quello dei lieviti e del salato, mentre per chiudere fa bella mostra di sé la vetrina con le torte, di qualcuna delle quali esiste la versione monoporzione nel bancone dei dolci. Insomma qualsiasi sia la vostra scelta sarete appagati con il rischio che proverete qualcosa d’altro perché non è facile resistere. Regole dell'asporto, legate al colore della zona a parte, il locale è piccolo, fatto solo su misura per ordinare e poi portare via e godersi questi piccoli capolavori, non subito, ma a casa o in un posto comodo perché mangiare i dolci ha anche la sua ritualità. Love this little coffee and dessert bar. For being near the largest attractions of Rome it’s very reasonably priced. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall, but you can get a nice sandwich here as well as some very pretty looking dessert items. The macaroons and jam-filled croissants were really tasty! Definitely the spot to stop at for a quick pick-me-up if you’re wandering around the city center. There is a nice park across the street where you can take your...
