We really enjoyed our three-day stay at the Zhihua Inn in Rome. The real gem here is the staff-- the owner Ms. Zhihua, and the morning staff person Ben-- who were unfailingly helpful and kind in every respect. We ended up being somewhat high-maintenance guests, with a couple of special needs-- a broken toilet that needed fixing, a taxi that needed to be arranged at 4:30 a.m.-- and the staff bent over backwards to take care of these things for us.||||This is not a fancy hotel or a fancy neighborhood, but the room was large by European standards, clean, and comfortable, with air conditioning, a mini-fridge, and two big comfy chairs. Don't let the low, low price scare you away: it's not a sketchy place at all. We did have a little bit of trouble with the building's old plumbing, but were otherwise so pleased that we didn't really mind. Also, even though it is right near the train station, we barely noticed the sound of the trains at all-- the building must be very sound-proof. An excellent budget-friendly choice. Walkable to the station and to many tourist sites. The hotel is situated on the upper floor of an apartment building; when you arrive, you have to ring the bell, and the owner will buzz you in. The building is quite nice on the inside.||||The owner is, I believe, Chinese, and many of the guests seemed to be as well, but all nationalities should consider this hotel an excellent choice. We managed to get along fine in English, and I suspect one of the staff may be fluent in Spanish as well. For all I know, they may speak ten other languages! In any case, whenever we had difficulty understanding one another, they worked extremely hard to communicate with me and make sure our needs were addressed. Highly recommended! My only complaint is they ought to...

Read moreThe staff here were pleasant and we communicated okay, however there was rarely anyone on reception. The rooms and reception are on the 4th floor and you get given 4 keys on your check in, the front door key sticks slightly so wriggle it and it will open eventually. There is a lift for easy access with cases etc. |The room was a small box room with a bed, desk, wardrobe, fridge and bathroom. The bed was very comfortable with a memory foam mattress which was a nice surprise! |Freshly made and cleaned daily. |I do suggest you bring ear plugs with you as it is a very loud area with the tram right outside the front door and building work currently happening across the street, it was not a pleasant wake up call at 6am.. |The extractor fan in the bathroom was also very loud.||Very close to Termini station which is ideal but the area wasn’t the best. I travel often on my own so I was quite confident walking around at night but others may feel quite anxious. People constantly stop you to try and sell you things and comment on your person. It was full of quite daunting men when you’re a 25 year old women on her own. Definitely don’t wear a dress unless you want met leering at you and commenting on your assets!||Breakfast was different.. you pick the time you want it and what you want on check in and they deliver it to your door in the morning which was lovely but I only had it twice because of leaving for trips and it only being served between 8:30 and 9:30 and if you have to be somewhere by that time it’s no good. It consisted of a coffee and a pastry. ||Good room for a place to sleep whilst you’re exploring but would say it’s...
