Pizza was good. That's about it.
For a starter we shared a plate of a selection of meat, it was ok. However, the bread was so stale. Crunchy is one thing, but having trouble biting off the crust is another. Oh, and I don't generally like to "look a gift horse in the mouth", but they served us some not-actually-bruschetta when we sat down, which was definitely last week's sandwich bread. Yes, it was in fact sandwich bread, those sugar-loaded precut plastic sponge things which you can buy in the supermarket. And yes, this was "on the house", but it is absolutely unnecessary to give your customers something like this, even for free. It just gives a bad impression. The taste was fine however, we ate it.
Ok, so the pizza was quite good actually, that's why I'm not giving 1 star.
Dessert was not good. I love panna cotta and have had it in a lot of different restaurants. Well, this here tasted okay-ish, but the consistency was just horrible. It was like dried glue. Very very sticky, no creaminess whatsoever. It had way too much gelatine and I suspect that there was some other thickening agent too. Another possibility is that it spent a few too many days in the fridge. The bottom of the panna cotta (which is the top when still in the mould) had a thick dry film, which usually happens when it is left uncovered for too long. It wasn't off or anything, but it was definitely not made the same day, probably not even the day before. Also, I am about 80% sure that the fruit sauce came from a bottle from the supermarket. Very sugary and not...
Read moreOverpriced, taken off the street, and poor service. One thing to note here is that I feel it is a bad business practice to join people on the street to eat at your restaurant. This place took it a step further by pulling out chairs and making out very difficult for people walking by. The food in and of itself simply couldn't compete with the surrounding area. Given the prices, you're actually much better off eating at the other places as well. Dinner was interrupted twice. Once by a man trying to sell us jewelry and once by an according player who insisted we owed him because he was playing near the restaurant. If you can avoid it, do. Service didn't speak much English, which is completely fine, however the part that was not okay was the long wait between ordering, receiving food, and getting the bill. Even after asking for the bill it still took upwards of ten minutes to receive it. The bathrooms had a certain scent to them as well that although not too unpleasant, certainly didn't make me enjoy my time in there. Also lookout for the ledge you have to step over getting into the restaurant; I didn't trip on it, but I can see...
Read moreWhat a lovely place!! We were staying locally at the Taormina hotel and came across this restaurant/bar. Couldn't have asked for nicer people to meet. So friendly and hospitable 🥰Always greeted with a big smile, lots of laughs, great beer, wine, food and the staff couldn't do enough for us.They were all incredible! We celebrated my sister in law's 60th whilst in Rome and decided to come back here to party as it's so reasonably priced, relaxed and comfortable. (Also not too far to wobble back to hotel 🤭) After a delicious meal with plenty of wine, the staff came with a chunk of chocolate cake with a candle in and they all sang 'Happy Birthday ' in Italian too! It was wonderful. Please visit the guys here. They speak English really well and will look after you. I hope you love it as much as we did. Thankyou to everyone there. We made fantastic memories and will definitely be back if we visit Rome again 😘😘😘 Love Ruth, Alison and Emily...
