At first all looked good . booking very easy with booking.com . good communication and very easy transaction. day of arrival is when the issues started , firstly there is no sign or Evan a building number to where this place is located , Evan the local shop keepers didn't know where it was , so i called her through booking.com and to be fair she came and met us and guided us to a apartment block through a big wooden door , i was shocked as i actually thought i was staying in a hotel ,but no worries . this is where it became very very concerning. as we walked through the entrance it was very dark with a lift in the front of you and next to the lift is a flight of stairs guiding you to the main door of apartment . what was alarming was a gentleman who clearly had some some concerning issues sat on the lower step for the full term of our stay , day and night alone either drinking or asleep but just sat there dribbling .now me and my wife are from a city and unfortunately you do see some unsavory characters but to have to step over this guy every morning and every evening isn't too pleasant especially when he mumbles aggression at you . i instantly raised my concern with the owner who replied he is a member of residence above and they cant do anything about him and have tried to remove him , he is harmless and is on medication and to simply ignore him .i instantly said i am not too pleased to which she agreed and said she will ask him to move, which he never for...
Read moreMy wife and I were in Rome for a few days but before that, did some research on where to stay on a budget without compromise of quality, and we could not have chosen a better place than Barbara's. We are avid travelers and we had been in several very to the least expensive, from franchise to uniquely named Hotels, and we could not have been any happier with our stay! ||Bottom line is first of all Barbara is a lovely lady and we do not have any more words of gratefulness for all her hospitality, advise and dedication. ||Secondly, her facilities are super modern and always like brand new, yes, that kind of clean! and the beds are like reposing on clouds!||Thirdly, location... near to everywhere!! it is at the intersection of Matteucci and Via Ostiense, all sorts of commerce around it, Carrefour one block away, Gelateria La Romana at the next corner, four blocks away from Stazione Piramide, and from there Rome is yours...||Hope this helps any undecided traveler into finding a fantastic place to stay without any worries, only to enjoy the beauty and the history of the fabulous...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience at Residenza Matteucci during the stay with my family in Rome. We had 2 rooms with all the requirements: big comfortable bed, clean bathroom with amenities, air conditioning, spaces for storage and access to the equipped kitchen with self service for breakfast (coffee, water, juice, milk, desserts, bread, butter, cheese). Shops all around the building, restaurants and transportation to the city center for the touristic area. I highly recommend this...
