Porto Fluviale Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Rome

This place was suggested by an italian friend of mine for pizza. However when we arrived we decided to taste pasta. It seemed to gather a lot of locals which is always a positive sign for me when choosing a restaurant. The waitress was really nice, spoke very good english and was ready to explain everything. Well done! Now, we ordered 3 side dishes and i can say definitely that panzanella and the eggplant with parmiziano were excellent. From the main dishes the vegeterian carbonara was very delicious however gnocchi with pepper and cicoria was not that good. Actually my wife did not eat more than 2 bites. Now, i am not sure whether this was not lets say cooked well or we just failed to choose a dish which is close to our eating habits. The spinach salad was also pretty good but the pumpkin soup with ricotta cheese did not meet our expectations. The revelation of the evening was the dessert 😊😊. You have to taste this tiramisu all of u. Among the best tiramisus ever for sure. Together with 1 coctail and 1 drink we paid around 80 euros which comparing to the dishes we ordered it is a fair price. The place accepts credit cards. Overall my rating is 3 stars due to the fact that 3 plates were not good for us but for sure i would go again there to experience the good service one more time and to taste pizza or maybe other pasta in order to be...

We were guided here in the classic way, via Lonely Planet, and within 5 minutes we walked out.

The guy behind the bar didn't care what we wanted and made it very difficult for us to understand how the place works. However we thought "maybe he's just having a bad day" so we decided to sit down.

We were then greeted with the worst waitress we've ever had the pleasure to experience who came across like she couldn't be anywhere worse than in this restaurant.

We asked a reasonable request to have some tapas style food with our pasta and she said it wasn't possible. She then made up what food was available and what wasn't on the menu all with a face like a teenager being forced to go to his or her granny's 90th.

We then left after feeling very unwelcome and decided to go to Eataly, which we would definitely recommend above this place and is around 5 minutes away.

I thought to myself during this experience that maybe I'm being overly sensitive. As a British gent maybe we are treated to above and beyond customer service back in blighty, and should be grateful of such high standards. And then I thought no. This place was just terrible. I'm not going to make excuses for this restaurant.Terrible.

Molta acqua è passata sotto i ponti, dopo decine di visite, prima che mi decidessi a scrivere questa recensione. I bistrot di tendenza di ultima generazione, quelli a mattoncini bianchi stile industriale americano aperti ininterrottamente dalla mattina con le colazioni fino al dopocena, a discapito dell'esteriorità accattivante non mi hanno mai ispirato affidabilità. Frequento Porto Fluviale da quando ha aperto i battenti, quindi si parla di diversi anni fa, colpiscono subito le interminabili vetrate che percorrono tutto il locale sull'omonima via da cui questo prende il nome. All'interno grandi ambienti tutti ferro e legno separano trattoria e pizzeria, mentre dall'imponente bancone che parte dall'ingresso della prima sala è possibile degustare un aperitivo o bere una bollicina in attesa del tavolo. Diciamo subito che una volta al dunque l'esperianza è stata più che positiva, ma la domanda d'obbligo che mi pongo di fronte a strutture di tali dimensioni è "durerà?". Ebbene, parrà scontato, ma fino ad oggi non sono mai rimasto deluso. La cucina è riuscita a mantenere la stessa vincente formula nel corso degli anni con un livello medio alto che ben si addice ad un posto del genere. E quindi si parte con una vasta selezione di cicchetti, ovvero delle mini portate, che sostituiscono gli antipasti e aggiungono brio alla scelta. Esempi? Stracciatella ai tre pomodori, burrata con alici del cantabrico, parmigiana di melanzane, sformatino di carciofi, panzanella, quattro tipi di tapas, polpette al sugo, crostino con prosciutto di bassiano. Prezzi tra i 2 e i 4 euro, per intenderci. Tra i primi piatti tutti i pezzi forti della tradizione romana tra i quali carbonara e amatriciana sono da provare. Interessante anche qualche proposta più elaborata come i ravioli integrali allo spada e melanzane o il fusillone al dentice. I secondi includono piatti ben preparati sia di carne che di pesce, tagliata di pollo, ottima, petto d'anatra, fish and chips di polpo, tartare di ricciola. Chi desidera mangiare freddo può optare per i taglieri di affettati e formaggi, molto buoni, mozzarella di bufala e insalate. Nella proposta non mancano gli hamburger tra cui vi suggerisco il Fluviale e il Vegetariano. Per finire in dolcezza non potete esimervi dal provare tiramisù e cheesecake accompagnate da un buon vino dolce passito. La carta dei vini è ben strutturata e di facile consultazione, comprende discrete etichette da tutto il territorio nazionale al giusto prezzo. Il bel dehors posto sul retro del locale ma soprattuto la stupefacente attenzione nel servizio costituiscono bonus. Come sopra specificato Porto Fluviale è anche pizzeria, farine biologiche macinate in pietra, lievitazione di 72 ore, due forni a legna e possibilità di scegliere tra base romana o napoletana.
