Overall a GREAT hotel to stay, the new rooms on the 4th floor have such a great character, design and space.||||The staff members were very kind, welcoming and helpful.||The rooms were kept very clean by the housekeeping team.||The spa is brilliant.||The shuttle bus to the ski lift was very good also.||||We were a group of 4 families and we were there for the last week of the Ski Season and had some great skiing. As we had such a large group, we were also given a 10% discount on our hotel rates and 7 nights for the price of 6.||||We would love to return, however, these are a few things that will need to be improved :||||Unfortunately, the quality of the food was not 100%. Some days were great and other days were poor. One day we were given Burata that was out of date and this was confirmed by the chef also. One of the days the fish wasn't cooked well and also another day the chicken was still pink. Even if it is the last week of the season, the quality of cooking and food for the guests should still be maintained to a high standard but this was not the case.||||As I have already said, there were also good days but the good experiences are easily spoiled by the bad experiences.||||We reported all of our feedback and comments to the hotel reception on the day before we left but 1 month later, we have still not heard back from the hotel about an apology or explanation.||||The thing that spoiled our holiday was the fact that there was a misunderstanding with the water. I am now noticing that other people on TripAdvisor have also mentioned this issue. We were under the impression that the water was tap water served in Glass Bottles and thus free. In actual fact the hotel has installed a special water filter tap in the bar and the water bottles are re-filled from this tap and served on the tables. For this reason, the bottles are not sealed and we thought it was regular tap water. ||||Each bottle is charged at 4.50 Euros and we used nearly 8-10 bottles every night at dinner. Only at checkout did we notice the cost of 250 euros for Water. We did not realise that each bottle was costing 4.50 Euros and so we of course paid our bill. We would have been happy with regular tap water but it was too later. We of course also bought beer, wine and cocktails so it was not as if we were only hoping to drink free tap water. ||||We have been skiing around Europe for the past 15 years and one nice touch that many other Hotels have done in the past is that once a day, the Owners come and introduce themselves to the guests, which is a very nice touch. This did not happen at Alpenhotel and maybe the Owners were busy but, this is just a nice touch for guests. This is not always necessary so we have nothing negative to say about this.||||We would love to return if the few things above are improved or corrected.||||One thing that we can say is that it is a great Hotel to stay in a great choice for any traveller (just be aware about the...
Read moreDo Not Go to the Spa! Extremely Disappointing Experience.
We booked 5 day passes and one massage for our family during our ski vacation, and unfortunately, our experience at this spa was nothing short of disappointing.
At the time of booking, we were told the sauna wouldn’t open until 4pm, which we were fine with, as we had encountered similar policies at other spas. However, when we arrived at noon to check in, we were informed that the outdoor heated pool would be closed, which was a shock and letdown. After speaking with the manager, they said the pool would open in 45 minutes, so we decided to stay, especially since we had already paid for parking (their lot was full).
I made the mistake of paying at check-in, which I now regret. Once we entered the spa area, the disorganization was apparent. They had trouble figuring out how many robes and baskets we needed, especially as my husband was arriving later. There was no proper space to change, and when we got into the facilities, we were shocked by how unbearably hot the indoor pool was. The space was dark, depressing, and the mountain views were barely visible. The outdoor pool was much smaller than we had expected, and the spa’s website used wide-angle shots that made the place look far more impressive than it actually was, which felt incredibly misleading.
When we voiced our concerns and asked for a refund, they refused, stating that it was too difficult since we had already worn the robes. Even though my husband never set foot into the spa and I didn’t receive my massage, they still refused to offer any form of compensation or partial refund, despite us paying over $500 CAD for a very underwhelming experience.
Do yourself a favor—skip this spa. Pay a little bit more (+10€/person) and head to the stunning and amazing spa at...
