I have worked as a manager in the travel industry and have traveled extensively for over 20 yrs and have never felt strongly enough to write something negative about a service until now.||||I stayed at Garni Walter in S.Cristina for 2 weeks as a single traveler on a ski holiday in February 2014. I had found the B&B via the tourism website for Ski Dolomiti.||One of the reasons I chose the B&B over another was they state WIFI access on their website. There is no indication of extra charges even on their email confirmation. I was told when I checked-in it would be 3 Euro per day. This is false advertising. When someone is out skiing all day and just wants to check emails and social media at night I think it’s quite cheeky especially when there is free access throughout the town.||||Upon arrival early evening after a long journey I phoned the owner as she advised she could collect me from the S.Cristina bus stop as I had a lot of luggage. She was annoyed I had gone too far and got off at the wrong stop. I checked with the driver and it was the main stop for S.Cristina. It was dark, snowing and I come from Australia. She indicated the stop I was supposed to get off. It was literally less than a 2 minute drive down the road! Warm welcome, not!||||I booked a single room. It definitely was a single room, very small that I could not even fit my ski bag inside the room. I had to unpack my clothing in the corridor. When I was making the booking with her I asked if there was a discount since I was staying for 2 weeks. She said that she does not charge extra for single occupancy of the room therefore the price is already reasonable. I’m not sure how 2 people can sleep in a single bed?? She advised she would give me the tax as a discount about 1 Euro per day but in the end she charged the tax.||||She mentions fresh homemade produce and access to snacks anytime. All the breakfast produce such as cakes, biscuits and croissants are out of packets. There was no fresh fruit at all except what looked like some small old apples. Outside of breakfast it was always locked.||||As I was there for 2 weeks on arrival I asked if there was a laundry in town. She advised there wasn’t but because I was staying for so long she would let me use the washing machine. I only needed to do one wash at the end of the first week. On that day I checked with her again if I could put on a quick load after my return from skiing that afternoon. She said that’s fine. On my return I could not see her but I put the load on as the laundry was near the ski room. She walked in and started to yell at me saying it consumes too much power and if I wanted to continue it would be 7 Euro! She had made me feel so small and uncomfortable||||I’d also overheard her advising another guest that if they wanted to park on the premises it would be 3 Euro per day!||||I’ve never encountered someone who is so money hungry and so rude to guests. This is not a welcoming, friendly family run place to stay as advertised. If I had not prepaid I would have checked out, she ruined my experience in the Dolomites. The owner is not genuine and is very false. The only good thing I can say is that the accommodation is clean. I'd rather stay somewhere where I felt welcomed and not a...

Read moreStayed in this hotel for a week in July 2014. The room was clean and convenient, and the hotel is situated in a quiet place, although a bit away from the center of San Cristina (and the bus stop). The main drawback was a certain willingness of the owner to charge you every little thing. For instance, the wifi is not free, and, moreover, they charge for every different device one wants to connect to the internet (!!!). Also, the hotel's parking is not free, although one can leave the car on the public parking on the...
