Hotel La Pace — Hotel in Unione dei comuni della Versilia

Me and my wife stayed for one night in La Pace Hote in Viareggio, and it was the worst hotel I ever experienced.||We checked in and found that the lift was not working. Receptionist kept promising us that will be fixed soon but after 45 minutes I had to carry upstairs two heavy luggage myself.||The room besides being too small and ancient looking had lousy furniture, and the bathroom had a very small shower and the door blocking the narrow passage behind the main room door. A window looking over a disgusting dirty internal yard hence with clothes hanging from other rooms for drying,making it look like a ghetto.||The key for the room was also worn out and dirty.||The following morning we went for breakfast and and the same person who was a receptionist the day before in a manipulative manner he told us that in ordered to have breakfast we must fill in a form to choose the food and after signing it he will get the food chosen.||He said that this procedures were being taken for hygiene purposes, but it was only done to minimise the amount of food consumed from the so called buffet.||Infect we were not even given all of the few items we chose from the list.||Speaking of hygiene this person handling food was a one man job, doing receptionist work,including handling money and serving breakfast at the same time, without wearing any gloves, picking bread and other things with his bare hands, and putting his thumb in in each plate.||This clearly shows that hygiene is not...

Didn't earn any stars. I booked 3 rooms in January for a stay in June. I communicated with the hotel at that time about room preferences, which were verified by the hotel. Nothing special, just single beds vs double beds. I was happy with the fact that the hotel reached out to me first to confirm this and felt this was very professional. One week before my stay, the hotel contacted me and said they could not accommodate my stay as they were fully booked. They offered me a stay at a nearby hotel, which was a cheaper hotel, but I was charged the same price. The other hotel had very friendly staff and I can't fault them, but had I booked directly with them, I would have paid less. At that time, there were not options as most hotels were fully booked. This "bait and switch" of my sea view rooms that I paid extra for to a cheaper hotel is very unprofessional, bad business. Be warned, just because you book a room with this hotel, you may not be...

My worst experience ever. Do not trust positive reviews and beautiful photos - it is all fake. Rooms are tiny and dirty, amenities broken, everything is old and deadly used. They use cleaning chemicals with a terrible smell. Toilet didn't flush, shelf in the bathroom was broken, the lamp over the mirror didn't work, the shower hose was leaking, the towels smelled musty and moldy. Located at the crossroads with traffic lights it is very noisy inside and hard to sleep well. The walls are cardboard, we heard active sex from the neighbors room. Breakfast is typical and poor.
