Bed And Breakfast Mestrina — Hotel in Venice

Started off on a bad foot, when Andre mixed up our arrival time when we clearly mentioned our arrival time prior to the trip in the messages. Secondly, our room door lock was faulty and difficult to unlock (we were locked out of our room soon after we arrived), we tried our best to unlock our door for good 10min even with the help of the other guests before contacting Andre for help (when we rang him, he was very frustrated and refused to come and help, his reason being because of football, very unreasonable). Thirdly, Andre came with the locksmith the next morning without prior arrangement, knocked on our door while we were recovering from our long trip, and he just expected us to be out of the room by 11am so he can fix the door. Fourthly, while amidst of all this, Andre kept raising his voice and took our his frustration on us for his non-functioning door-lock, in front of others (door handle felt like it was going to fall off and squeaked every time we opened and closed the door). Fifthly, the breakfast provided was not up to standard, with bottles of milk already used and opened (we don't know for how long, this goes with the bread too and they looked old so we didn't dare to touch). Sixthly, the room was very dusty (there was a 3mm thick dust living on top of the wardrobe) and floor grubby (Andre's dog Bibo just ran in and explored our room while we were there waiting for the door to be fixed). Otherwise, you get a own bathroom (not attached to the room), shared kitchen, and wifi. There is a supermarket across the road and bus stop to and from Venice. Otherwise nothing much on this street. 15min bus ride from airport, and ~15min to Venice. Other guests have left good reviews for Andre, but unfortunately this wasn't the case for us. On our arrival Andre was very rushed to give us tips for the trip, we had the impression that he didn't want to be there. Even before the trip, he just always referred us to a website, and nothing more. Overall, not impressed with his professionalism and would not be coming back. Not recommended. PS. be prepared to pay the tourist fee per night's stay, which is not mentioned on his website, and be prepared to pay on arrival in cash (and photo of your passport...

We went in may to venice and this B&b was great!||First the place we stayed wasn't at the adress, 1 street away and next to the bus stop to Venice.||Big room with a double confortable bed, private bathroom in the corridor, shared kitchen were you can have the breakfast (a lot from little boxes, but no time shedule to have your breakfast). We stayed there 3 night and barely saw the other persons (3rooms in total), no noise and clean! no television in the room but it isn't necessary.||Ah Andrea you see him just at the beginning, so he explains you everything and give you the keys, you pay and we never saw him afterwards, so if you need more information, think about it and ask him everything!||The bus stop to venice is downstair, 2 min away, a bus every 10 min and single ticket 1.2€, so great to get to venice and to be there without paying the full price.||Nice little restaurants around the main place in Mestre and grosery 2 streets away in the mall.||So we had a really good stay and would recommend this...

I took my 17-year-old daughter to Italy as an early high school graduation present. Venice was the one city she was most looking forward to. Mestre was far more disconnected from Venice than I had anticipated. Andre was very unwilling to accomodate any change or work with me at all. My friend stayed at the apartment but I took my daughter and rented another room in Venice. I was hoping to at least have the rate changed from a triple to single rate. The room itself was very stuffy and you had to choose between a lot of traffic noise or a bit of fresh air. We were also suprised to find that we were sharing the apartment with another couple who were quite unfriendly. The accomodations themselves were clean and basic. The whole atmosphere however was not very welcoming. I found a place close to the train station in Venice that was not much more in price, had a great breakfast in the morning and was much friendlier and easier to get a transfer to the airport upon...
