Loved that this was a family owned and operated hotel. It is quaint and full of character and the family are lovely. You can tell it is their own business with how they look after the place and their guests.
The breakfast included is ordered off a menu so you need to allow time for this. The servings are small which means you can order several different things to have. The tiramisu and yoghurt are made by the family. Both are delicious. I wouldn’t normally have tiramisu with breakfast but I did here and I didn’t just stop at one! It was delicious.
The coffee was very good too. I am Australian, and in particular I am from Melbourne where we have a very strong coffee culture. Like all Melbournians, I am picky with my coffee. I usually drink a soy flat white at home. I can’t drink American coffee and I couldn’t drink coffee in the UK. The coffee here was great! I had a cappuccino as I think that is the closest to a latte at home. It doesn’t come with cocoa powder in Italy. It was strong enough, the soy milk was heated perfectly and I didn’t need to add sugar (I only add sugar if the coffee is undrinkable).
Location was very good. It is a short walk from the bus station. If you struggle with your bags you can pay for someone with a trolley to take the bags for you. You’ll find them walking around that area. The hotel was walking distance to everything we wanted to see. There are stairs at the hotel so you need to be able to get up and down the stairs. The family will help you with your bags if you need it. They were very helpful.

Read moreThe staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very cute. I rated the room a 3.5 out of 5 mainly because the mattress was poor and aggravated my back pain, so I didn't sleep well. Folks with less sensitive backs might not notice. (Other rooms might have better mattreses, too.) The rooms had fluffy white robes with slippers for guests along with great air conditioning. The bathroom was large and modern. The room had a desk with a mirror that was perfect for styling hair and makeup.
The location is an easy walk to all the fabulous sites and has great security for the venue and the rooms. We stayed across the hall from family we were traveling with, which worked out great. We are auper grateful the staff allowed us to leave our luggage with them after checkout while we toured the museum before officially leaving the island.
