Arriving in beautiful Venice on Piazale Roma, we first encounter the beautifully landscaped gardens of Papadopoli. They are located between the Venezia Santa Lucia train station and Piazzale Roma. The first park was laid out in 1834 by Francesco Bagnara for the owners of the Palazzo Foresti Papadopoli. They were full of rare species of trees and flowers, but over the years the number declined and was sacrificed in favor of the construction of new buildings and in 1933 the construction of the Freedom Bridge. This is a pleasant treed small park on the opposite side of the canal to St Lucia station.

You can easily access it via the foot bridges on either side of the station.

It's a nice quiet oasis if you need a break from the tourist throng. It has a nice playground for young children also, and has park benches if you need to sit down.
