We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights from 6-11 October 2019, and we'd happily recommend this hotel to overseas guests for the 3 reasons of good location, great service and comfort.||||The hotel is located right next to the Asahikawa JR station, hence, location is not an issue if you are visiting Asahikawa by train. The hotel is also right next to the Asahikawa Tourist Information Centre inside the train station complex, hence, it was easy for us to find out necessary information on getting to various tourist attractions in the region.||||The service in the hotel is excellent. From the front desk reception to the daily housekeeping staff, they were polite and responsive towards the hotel guests and our enquiries. I could see the staff take their work seriously and they took great effort to ensure the guests' needs are being attended to. Several of the reception staff can speak basic English, so at least we know our requests were being looked into.||||Finally, the hotel, being a business hotel, made extra effort to ensure the comfort of the guests. At the reception area, there was a range of pillow types (from the hard pillows to soft pillows) and even a microwave oven so that guests can heat up our bento boxes and other food before going back to the room. Rooms are all non-smoking rooms and the rooms are all smoke-free and clean and modern. There is self-service laundry and dryer machines available at the top floor, inside the two onsen rooms.||||We booked the smallest room available, so there was some constraint for us especially when we had a big luggage case. If space is a factor for you, then take a bigger size room. ||||Overall, highly recommend Y's Hotel for both business travellers and...
Read moreAwful check in experience. We landed and arrived at the hotel around 2. Asked to check us in, the lady took our passport and then simply said check-in is at 3pm and then stopped and just looked at us. Usually people would say check in is at 3pm, can you please come back. No, she did not say anything else at all. Simply just looked at us. So we asked her if she wanted us to return to check in at 3. She just looked at us and said nothing. No reply. no nod. Even a robot could provide better response than her! Wasn't even like she was trying to explain in Japanese or elaborate any further, just stood there and stared at us. We asked her a second time, same thing happened. No reaction, no response. I looked at her colleague and asked her if the lady in front of us meant we had to come back, she nodded her head but again did not speak to us at all. It was the most bizarre and unhelpful check in experience we ever had in Japan. We were simply just left hanging there.||||She had no trouble explaining to us how to check in and pay at the machine when we returned later on. Up till now we still don't understand their behavior.||||Other that that, everything else were great:||1. Prices were very reasonable.||2. Room was very spacious, clean and comfy.||3. Hotel location is perfect. Airport bus stop right in front of the hotel and next to the JR station. Close to Aeon Mall with the food court and supermarket there.||4. Public bath and sauna were great. Breakfast was included so we were happy with that. ||||Would stay again if we were in...
Read moreThis hotel is located right next to Asahikawa station and thus very convenient as a base for day trips. ||||The hotel is new, everything is clean and spotless. I stayed in a double room on level 8 and I just loved how modern everything was, from the bedhead (dual usb charging ports +light switches in easy reach), to the sweeping views of Asahikawa bus station, to the latest air purifier/humidifier which was great as in winter the air is soo cold & dry (doesn't have english instructions unfortunately, but I figured it out using online manuals - you could easily ring the front desk for assistance I suppose); the double bed was generous, the TV had many channels and very clear. The room isn't really meant for eating in (ie. no microwave or plates/cutlery) - but there are so many food venues nearby to try anyway. ||The bathroom was great too, typical Japanese style so it is cosy. Mind you I hardly used the shower, as I always went to the onsen on L12 which was fantastic (though can get crowded during peak times).||||Being in non-smoking room, I did not encounter any smell of cigarettes, which was great.||||The breakfast spread was abundant with options too - I liked the soups you could make and add condiments as you please, and the pastries were a standout. Fresh fruit was a treat too. ||||The front desk staff were very helpful, despite some language barriers - they really ensured we understood their answer to our questions.||||For all the reasons above, it was one of my favourite hotel in our trip...
