I haven’t come back since the new renovation, but I had a terrible experience here two years ago. Here is what I recall:
“Wow, I am never coming back here again. I booked the dorm room and it turns out their air conditioning is broken on the hottest and most humid month of the year in August. No, a spot A/C machine is not going to do the trick either, no matter what you think. I'm somewhat tolerant of the random people I'm put in a dorm with, but one of the ladies in the dorm brought her husband -inside the dorm- to scold me in English to keep the doors open...for doors I had never even shut? Dorms aren't private but a lot of boundaries have been crossed and it's not easy to make me upset and disappointed, but this experience certainly has. The breakfast and the onsen are not even that great either. Super cheap place to stay, but even this place is not worth...

Onsen facility available.||3. Free wifi and breakfast.||4. Very spacious room for the room price.||5. Safety box and television are available in the room.||6. Location is good as it takes about 15 minutes walk from Beppu station.||7. Slipper is provided to the guest||8. The hostel is very clean and has a spacious common area for guests to rest, read and watch tv.||9. Read moreReally nice, modern, friendly guesthouse. The public places is really nice and you can order coffee or some light drinks here. They’re really friendly and even hire an English speaker part-time worker and that do helped a lot! Besides the beautiful public places they also have a kitchen opened 24 hours with all the water heater, cups, pot, ice maker and cookers. The building itself is really old and it do make some noises from the wind, and restroom is outside of our private room and it’s cold while walking to it. The provide public bath and our room type can only took bathe there. I’m lucky to enjoy the hot bath all by my self, the onsen feel very pure and the bath is clean!
