Amazing restaurant for some delicious seafood in Beppu! Unfortunately you can't make lunch reservations so there is a chance that you'll have to wait outside. However, the Ryu-kyu bowl was worth the wait! Take a look at the menu in advance, because if you're like me, you'll have a hard time making a decision. It’s a traditional Japanese styled restaurant located in a local shopping street. They serve fresh raw fish and tempura. Menus are written in Japanese. If you like to the local atmosphere and enjoy seafood for lunchtime, this restaurant is highly recommended as most seafood restaurants are closed for lunchtime in this area.

This restaurant is a gem! The place looks a bit old but the delicious food makes up for it. I had the best Unagi Don (pricey but worth it) and the sashimi was very fresh. The prices for other dishes were reasonable. Do recommend if you want to eat here but make sure you have someone who can speak Japanese.

Had an excellent mixed shashimi dish with very fresh fish layed across a bed of surprisingly delicious cold rice. For about 13 AUD, which is good. The staff are great too. No english menu but there are photos for some dishes.

Ate here because it was the only open store at lunchtime in the area. The wait was looong. The food came quickly. But the taste was just so-so. 😏 Tip: Do not order their teishoku. A la carte is enough, so save your ¥300. 😜
