BEPPU RIKYU — Hotel in Beppu

Overall a good stay. Nice spacious apartment with full kitchen, separate bath & shower from toilet, tatami mats and japanese style table/chairs.

3 downsides- the reception is un-manned and the conceirge did not provide the door code ahead of my arrival. I then had to wait for a guest to exit the hotel before I could enter to do self-check in.

No onsite parking. Only can park at supermarket nearby which charges 400 yen max per day

Room are spacious for 4 pax, the building and deco feels vry luxury and cosy. the washroom is separated into toilet, basin and shower, so is easy for family. Fully functional kitchen. Location is good, the supermarket is 2mins walk away.

But the alley to hotel is very tight, recommend to park at supermarket and walk over. As the alley is too small to drive your car in.

Also remember to get the door code before you arrived as this...

You do self-check-in and check-out, so that means a bit of flexibility in when you arrive and leave. The location is pretty good, about 10 minutes’ walk from Beppu Station and quite near Takegawara Onsen. There are a lot of soaplands nearby, I’ll leave it to others to decide if that’s a pro or con.
