This hotel was a classy high end hotel in the '80 and '90 but nothing has changed since. |Staff is friendly but don't speak alot of english bit they try their best.|Room is small with a decent bathroom but the bedding is old and has some stains that wont wash out giving it a dirty feel, same goes for the curtains and carpet and AC. We had bad nights due to mosquitos that we still have no idea where they came from. Windows closed and still got bitten every night, my guess is that they come in through the very old and dirty Ac unit.|Breakfast is ok but has a very weird system. You have to tell reception at what time you want breakfast and of you want western or Japanese style, they give you a slip with the info and in the morning you give this slip to the staff.|It is located near FujiQ station but the sightseeing buses depart from Kawaguchiko which is still a 30 min walk.|Do try the Onsen, it is not crowded so good if it is your first time to get a feel. They do say that the onsen has Fuji views but this is not true.|When you decide to have dinner in the restaurant next to the hotel you get a discount but this has the same dated feel as the hotel.|Overal i would not visit again because the rooms are to dated and it is not close to the main...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed for one night during August (summer) in a double room nonsmoking. Bedroom area was very small so if you have oversized luggage (60cm over), I would encourage a bigger room. Bathroom was good, all essentials provided. Note that onsen does not permit people with tattoos, but you can cover up if coverable. To get there, we took a train to the Fujikyu-Highland station which was a 12 min walk (in the heat) to the hotel. It's well surrounded by residential housing so was quiet. There's a huge supermarket about 3 min walk away if you wanted to stash up on snacks, drinks, etc. We found some good alternative routes to get to Kawaguchiko, like getting a bus from Komeda coffee (opposite side). There were 2-3 buses that ran through every 5 to 12 minutes, not too busy either. Again, would recommend this place if you know how to map your way around (you would great a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains during winter!). If not, get a hotel closer to Kawaguchiko and base yourself around the train/bus station as...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel for four days and used it as a base for running the Ultra Trail Mount Fuji race, which ends a short drive from the hotel. We really liked the welcoming atmosphere of this hotel and the facilities it offered, including car parking, free breakfast and the onsen. The room was the size we'd come to expect when traveling in Japan and that was fine for us. ||The staff were very friendly and the hotel has a traditional and cosy feel to it. The breakfast room is fairly small and you have to pre-order whether you'd like a western or Japanese breakfast - and at what time - the previous evening. It was one of the nicest breakfasts we had on our trip. There is a Japanese restaurant on the site of the hotel, but we didn't have an opportunity to try it - we mostly went to some of the other great restaurants around the area. There's also a few bakeries and supermarkets a short walk away from the hotel.||I really loved this place and will definitely return here when I'm next...
