After a long trek around mt fuji on a dusty, dry and hot day, we randomly stumbled across this unassuming eatery along the highway. Upon entering we were amazed at the beautiful interiors. We took off our shoes before stepping foot on the Tatami mats and were seated on low chairs perched under the dark wooden tables close to the ground. I ordered a seafood veggie tempura bowl ($20AUD) which came with miso soup and my partner ordered a tuna set which came with the works (refer to photo). Both meals were so well executed and generous in portion. The tempura batter on my seafood and veggies was light and crispy complimented by a sweet sticky and umami sauce drizzled over my rice. My partners set was an assortment of textures and flavours we were both so full and satisfied at the end. The quality of the food and value for money, ambience and friendly staff felt very authentic which made it feel like a Japanese oasis in the midst of a hot long day of walking in the heat....

Ordering was a bit strange as you do so via a phone app, but this eliminates communication issues if you are not a Japanese speaker, so that can be a plus. Water and tea are self-service. There is a large private room that can hold a large group at one table. We liked it enough to come back another night with a friend, but unfortunately, they were randomly closed. Overall, it's a pretty good sushi experience in the Fuji area...

💰Quite pricey, almost equal places in busy central Tokyo area, but this is among very few options you can have around this area.
🍣Fish freshness and tastiness are just above average.
😌Atmosphere: Table and seating areas are spacious. Even when there are many customers around you can still enjoy the calmness and peacefulness. You can see the mountain by looking out at the window 🌄
They also often serve tourist groups and have English menu as well.
