Best experience I had in Japan so far, legit. I went there around 5.45pm, left at around 7.30 because the shop owner was too friendly and we chatted for some time after my meal, me with a tiny bit of Japanese and the owner with OK English. The owner taught me some Japanese and it was really cool.. the meal was cooked by the mother who had many years of cooking experience #LegitJapaneseFood, for the price (1080 yen) was really great, I ordered the set which they have this japanese classic meal specially for recommended for foreigner. Usually its a set including of Japanese rice, fish, miso soup, some vegetable and pickled vegetables and a salad, with free flow of tea. If you want to have an authentic Japanese meal, this is the place to go. And your expenditure will go directly to japanese family business instead of large businesses. 10000% recommended if you are in...

We ordered the seasonal vegetable and pork hot pot for sharing. The goma miso stock packs a tiny spicy kick which suited our Asian palate, pairs very well with the white rice that was obviously cooked with care. If you like fish, then the Hokke (Atka Mackerel) is strongly recommended. Seasoned with salt and perfectly grilled, the flesh retained its juice and it had a delicately firm texture. It takes good cooking skills to ensure fish is cooked properly. Too bad I didn't take a photo of the Hokke until I had eaten half of it.
Owners are friendly and can speak some English. The meal was made more enjoyable by their genuine Japanese hospitality. Discovering wonderful places such as Setouchi is one reason that makes...

Perhaps is to keep his restaurant a quaint place for his customers, but the very moment my kids made any noise, be it singing, jabbering or crying, I only have two to three seconds to keep my kids quiet before he starts to shush us.
Honestly, this is by far my most stressful meal I had in my entire life. My wife and I try our best to keep our kids quiet but it takes more than 2 to 3 seconds to calm them down. So, I highly recommend that if you have kids younger than 4 years of age, to not visit this place.
Not kid friendly at all. Unless your kids instructions very well, can shut up by command. Otherwise, visit bigger chain or restaurants.
Nevertheless, food is not too bad....
