Hostel Mt.fuji-FUKUYA — Hotel in Fujiyoshida

10/5 stars. We stayed here on our honeymoon adventure, and staying here was a highlight of the trip. Mochiko Sen is a wonderful host that went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She speaks excellent English and is a wonderful guide for the Fuji area. She gave us travel recommendations, showed us restaurants in the area that are friendly to foreigners, and has lots of helpful maps and info in the hostel. The hostel is in a great location, very close to the Chureito Pagoda, the train station and more. It was very tidy, the beds were very comfortable, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. She made us a wonderful breakfast in the morning before we left and she even made us good luck charms to celebrate our wedding and best wishes for our marriage and our trip. We teared up from how nice it was of her. We will definitely be coming back if we ever come back to Fujiyoshida. Highly recommend...

I stayed here for one night and booked a bed in a dorm for one night. I came by car and was able to park in front of the door. The owner came over after I arrived a bit late. She friendly explained some things about the surrounding area and gave me tips. Thanks for that! I slept in a top bed and you can store your belongings on the floor below the lower bed. The common area, shower area, toilets and kitchen area are all very clean. It's not big though, but it gives you a homely feeling. Coffee and tea is available, and you can store some food and drinks in the refrigerator. There are some lockers and a washing machine too. I stayed two nights at Hostel Mt. Fuji - FUKUYA in April 2023. The owner Mochiko Sen is a sweet and kind person who speaks fluent English. The place was small but clean, comfortable, and the best value for a budget traveler like me.

The place, converted from a single-family house, is a low-budget and one-person-run hostel that allows guests to stay the nights; it's not an expensive place that offers 24/7 service and fancy amenities.

I am a supporter of small businesses, and Mochiko Sen's hospitality made me feel like I was visiting an aunt in the small town. I would stay here again if I visit the town...
