Had a 7 day stay here at Lamplight. Location is great, close to an urban-esque/thrifting stylish area mixed with upscale fashion.
The hotel itself has great reception staff, easy to communicate with and spoke conversational English. They are also a cafe that serves drinks and food.
The rooms were kind of small but only because it was me and my significant other with 4x luggages.
I love the shower in this hotel. It has a bathtub + shower hose excluded into a little wet room while the toire and sink is right outside the wet room.
The hotel does come with amenities but not as much as other hotels we’ve stayed at. You would have to pick some up at the front desk. It comes with body wash, conditioner and shampoo. Hotel essential items you can pick up are toothbrush, razor, hairbrush, and a cotton set.
It only comes with one pillow that was particularly flat. I tried asking for another pillow but the cleaning staff that is available in the mornings were very confused and could not understand what I wanted, even though I used Google Translate. I just gave up asking for another pillow.
—————- Nearby:
It has a nearby bus stop without having to walk far. The closest station is a 10-12 minute walk.
There’s a nearby drugstore as well if you walk out and turn left and keep going straight.
————— Honorable mentions: Sometimes there’s little food-trucks that come to the front of the hotel selling food and drinks! I had tacos that were pretty well made!
Immediately as you walk out and go forward a little, there’s a lovely little icecream shop called Daimyo Soft Icecream that was around 450-500 yen when I went (April 2024)
-Anytime Fitness is 1 minute walk as well.
Overall, I would stay again! But maybe will book a bigger room! Miss this hotel and will come back again next year :)
Thank you for...
Read moreI made a reservation for 4 nights and 5 days in a row. I am very satisfied in terms of value for money, cost, facilities, and service.- Located in Tianjin, the largest shopping city. Even if you stay for 4 days, including 2 days on the weekend, it costs about 55 won including fees. In addition to delicious restaurants, you can go to Daimyo Street, more than 3 department stores, and the station within a 10-minute walk, and there is a bus stop 5 minutes away. In addition, Don Quijote is located about a 7-minute walk away, making it easily accessible. It is about two stops different from Hakata, so you can easily go to various directions such as Fukuoka Tower, beaches, parks, shrines, and hot springs.- Facilities and services are located up to the 8th floor. I don't know if it's because we stayed consecutive nights, but they let us stay on the 8th floor, so we ended the day with beer and drinks overlooking the streets of Tenjin. Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 9:30 and you can choose from a menu. I tried it once, but I was satisfied with the croissants with cheese and drinks. There are also various convenience facilities on the first floor, including a washing machine, vending machine, water purifier, and restroom. The staff are very friendly and simple toiletries are provided free of charge. Also, if it rains, umbrellas can be rented, and bicycles can also be rented.I think it will take more than 2 pages of A4 to write in various ways, so I will finish it.A brief reviewHakata is too expensive and the cheaper places have poor facilities and ratings.I want to experience maximum cost-effectiveness at a low cost.I want to go shopping often, such as at Don Quixote and department stores. etc.Try this accommodation. Read moreHotel was clean and cute. Rooms were tiny but bathroom was equipped with a good soaking tub. Bed was not the most comfortable — would suggest the hotel invest into mattress comforters as it was a very hard mattress. Only one pillow per person was given but the staff obliged to our request for one more each, that was helpful. Thank you. Most of the stay was self service with not much staff interaction needed.
The shades on the windows were not effective as mentioned by previous reviews, and you are awakened by sunlight.
The biggest downside is that the hotel is located on a rowdy bar/pub street. Party goers are making a ruckus till 5am every day. We stayed for 4 nights and every single night of the week was a huge party with screaming people all the way till morning. The hotel provides you a free flow of earplugs at the lobby so if noise and sunlight is not a problem for you…. This hotel is a great option. It’s in the perfect location and there’s so much to do a stone’s throw away - shopping districts are just a short walk away. Food options were fantastic.
Honestly, I liked the hotel if not for the noise and sunlight affecting the experience. Staff are lovely and checking in and out was...
