Don't be fooled by the photos ,mainly concerning the nice shots of breakfast. There is no breakfast...no coffee, no water. ||||This is an overpriced building that masks itself as a 3-star hotel, but in reality, you can find better lodgings at a hostel...having at least gained the upper hand with being able to enjoy a breakfast. ||||The inside of the building smells, the staff speak ZERO English....on that note, fact it. English is the language of the world (for now), not Japanese, not Korean...ENGLISH. Having some staff that can at least comprehend and communicate a few ideas would be a start. ||||The location does not save this place from receiving a bottom feeder review. A gal was playing with my door handle (from the outside) and I suspect, there was some mischief taking place. I know this because when I opened the door, she very quickly walked away, to the elevator. I would have brought it i up to the hotel but there are no cameras to justify my complaint.||||I cannot believe I paid money for this place. The room is NOT 3-Star quality. The bathroom is the made for size of hobbits. The television is not equipped with channels that matter. There is no water, no coffee, no tea to enjoy and the wifi seems be maintained by a hamster wheel. ||||I do NOT recommend this wanna-ba 3 star sink hole....unless you enjoy being fooled. ||||The only good thing I can say, is, the the lady that checked me in did a good job. After that, it...
Read moreWe usually stay in a newer boutique hotel in Tenjin. We had to stay in Plaza Hotel Tenjin this time since our fave hotel was fully booked. We booked two rooms - a semi double non smoking room and a double smoking room (they ran out of non smoking double rooms).Location is good. The hotel is near Akasaka station and Tenjin station. A lot of good shops and restos in the area like Ippudo, Lamp Light Books Cafe, Little Napoli, Billy's, Apple, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Levi's, Muji, and dozens more pre-owned clothing stores.Hotel is kinda dated. As expected, the rooms are small but the bathrooms are even smaller. The bed mattresses, comforters, curtains, and carpets have seen better days. But the amenities like yukata, coffee, tea, and tons of toiletries are excellent. You can expect your room to be (limited) cleaned, i.e. replace towels, bring out the trash, and vacuum the carpet, daily between 10am and 11am only. Wish that they also replace and fix the beddings daily for long-stay guests like us.Check-in and check-out procedure was a breeze.Front desk personnel (specially the Japanese lady staffers) were very helpful specially when we needed two taxis to go to the airport during rush hour.Just like other small hotels, it has a common room with an ice machine, vending machines (for drinks), microwave oven, and coin laundry. All these were very useful and...
Read moreThe location of the hotel in the city center of Fukuoka was good. A lot of restaurants, bars and shops around. Walking distance to the Metro about 5 minutes and direct access to the airport or Hakata train station.||||The hotel staff was firendly and help you wherever they can. The rooms are old, like the whole hotel. They seems to be clean, but due to the age of the hotel everything looks old, ugly and dirty somehow. Even the bathroom gives you the feeling of being dirty by used for so long time. The whole feeling during our stay was, that the hotel should be reconditioned.||||The breakfast was a typical Japanese breakfast. Almost no choice of western items. Some kind of toast or sandwich with a horrible taste. The rest of the buffet was Japanese style. Not so convenient.||||All in all we have to say that the location is good, but the hotel itself need to be reconditioned. It's in it's age and looks old and dirty. Even it might not be, but the feeling makes it not to a real...
