I will start off this review by saying this - I did not expect to find the most amazing accomodation experience in the Japanese Alps of Hakuba. Wow - was I wrong.||Upon arrival at Alpine Chalets the first thing that hit me was the proximity to the Ski Fields - literally your back yard.||||The next thing was the style, charm and quality of the accommodation itself. These are no mere "rooms" like I was expecting - they are self contained condos boasting extensive kitchens, comfortable beds and relaxing furniture to rest your sore legs after a hard day tearing through the depths of powder on the nearby slopes.||||The Condo is located in a very convienient proximity to local shops, restaurants, and a really great pub offering delicious food and very affordable beverages.||||To top it off - if you dont feel like a nice walk to these destinations - the accommodation provides a shuttle both in the morning and of an evening.||||There is also Free Wifi.||||||I would just like to say thank you to the Staff also. THey were fantastic. ||||We ran into a problem trying to find transport from Tokyo Airport to Hakuba. The staff at Alpine Chalets came swiftly to my aid - they provided me a ticket on a bus which runs DIRECTLY from the airport terminal to the front door of my apartment for about $90. ||||Overall? Bring a few friends or some family and you too can experience a skiing field on your back door step for a...
Read moreif you want back packer style accommodation this is it. Basic furniture that offers no comfort or area to relax. The kitchen, lounge and dining are a small combined area with a small bar fridge which the TV sits on top off. The only hanging racks are also in the area next to the dining table. The kitchen has 1 gas burner, rice steamer & grill toaster to cook with. The washing machine is in the bathroom so you can't access the basin except by standing at an angle. Beds are upstairs but the staircase is creaky and noisy so if you go downstairs at night you wake everyone up. You walk through the 1st bed are to get to the other 2 beds. You can hear the neighbours through the paper thin walls. Difficult to find the reception, its a shed at the front. There are no street lights from the accommodation to the main road. Its remote with a shuttle service that comes on the hour morning & night but not during the day. Worst accommodation we have very stayed and very...
Read moreThis place was absolutely amazing!! We travel all the time and this place was outstanding for value and location! The accomodation had great heating, and private facilities along with free wifi! The staff were super friendly and accomodating! The location was phenomenal! ! Right near Hapo ski slopes (walking distance and there were several shuttles to different mountains right outside our chalet) and walking distance to a vast array of clubs pubs and restaurants in echoland and central hakuba. Walking distance to supermarkets and pharmacy and the 100 yen store (we absolutely loved that shop)!! The chalet was fully self contaibed and had the option for traditional Japaenese still bedding if you prefered. The staff also helped us organise a whole range of activities that were awesome as well! And! Assisted us with booking transport to and from the airport on Narita. Overall a fantastic experience!! I highly recommend giving this place ago. Its...
