Modern hotel, well located and clean but we expected better. We were led astray, especially by the laundry service which was in fact non-existent, which made us waste a considerable amount of time. We only had this hotel to clean our clothes during our trip, I had been informed by email by the staff that we had to drop off the clothes at the reception desk the first evening of our stay. Once we arrived, we were told that there was no laundry service and that it was up to us to do everything. Having very little time and being very tired, we asked if it was possible to pay an extra fee and have them do it themselves as written in the email or to pay a service provider. The staff was not helpful at all, and also poorly informed about the machines. The machines were unusable for non-Japanese speakers since the only two machines are in Japanese. I had to go down to the reception desk twice to ask for help. Once the machine is finished, you have to put the laundry to dry because they are old machines, so you have to come back several times to do your laundry. Needless to say, the majority of the clothes still smelled bad and had no soap odor, making you wonder what capacity these machines have. But on top of that, the dryers didn't dry at all... We were told that half an hour was enough. We had to pay 4 times for 30 minutes for the clothes to be more or less dry. As a result, we spent the evening cleaning our clothes so that they still smelled bad and were barely dry. We had to dry in the room afterward and go to bed at midnight. This unfortunately biased our experience. This service should be removed or the machines replaced, the staff should be better informed, and above all, they should not provide false information by email because we had planned to wash our clothes for months in this hotel during our trip. If we had known, we would have found...
Read moreAll our needs were perfectly met at EN Hotel. For the price, it really doesn't get any better than this. I am a big fan of hotels with pleasing aesthetic design, check. The lobby and main areas are gorgeous as well as the building shape itself, with soft lighting and windows all around, organic shapes in interior. They have complimentary toiletries and a unique setup to make paper cranes, a nod to the Peace Memorial. The hallways and the rooms are cute. The room was big enough, with a comfy bed, very clean, nice tub and shower and a view of greenery. It was very quiet and we slept like a baby. One potential improvement could be adding an electric plug console - there is one at the desk and one at the bed, for usb. The staff were always friendly, professional, and were knowledgeable. Top notch. The ones we spoke to were fluent in English. The location of the hotel is within a 15 minute walk of the station, and in the other direction a five to fifteen minute walk of most downtown or tourist sights. Outside the hotel is green space and the canal, with people strolling or walking by. We tried the hotel breakfast and it is great value. It's worth making a reservation the night before for the discount. As vegans we usually avoid buffets but this one had something for everyone. There were many omni options but also two kinds of rice, potatoes, a good assortment of cooked vegetables, legumes, pickles, seaweed, tofu, natto, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. This is a great place for vegans as it is within walking distance of several vegan restaurants. There is a convenience store nearby and a couple of massage places less than five minutes away. We didn't want to leave! I would definitely stay here again if I return...
Read moreEN Hotel - an excellent hotel in an amazing and quiet location. Walking distance from the main street in Hiroshima and about a 15-minute walk from Hiroshima Station. The hotel is near the river. We got a relatively large and high standard room. The bed is very comfortable, and there is a very large and comfortable desk to work on. The room has a small fridge, a safe, a small bathroom, a place to hang clothes and a TV that was hanging away from the bed and didn't rotate so we didn't use it. The air conditioner in the room did not work very well, was noisy and weak. It has 4 options in total - closed, low, medium and high. The air conditioner is the only reason I gave a 4 star review and not 5. At these days, there is maintenance work in the hotel including maintenance of the air conditioner, so I hope they really fix it so that it works properly and won't be noisy. We got a room with an amazing view of the river, a pastoral view and a very quiet area. The hotel wifi worked well overall. There were a few times that the wifi worked weaker but it was fixed very quickly. The hotel has breakfast. The price is 200 yen cheaper if you pay for a meal in advance (that morning the cost will be 1,700 yen). The hotel staff is lovely. They helped us with everything we asked or requested and were very professional. The hotel has a laundry service- 2 washing machines and 2 dryers. Washing cost - 300 yen per half hour and dryer cost 100 yen per half hour. The hotel is at very affordable...
