Decided to stay here for two nights after seeing the hotel listed in the lonely planet guide. ||The hotel is not listed on most of the booking sites, the only one we did find was in Japanese and I tried to go through the booking process (with a translation) but it wouldn’t accept a uk address. We nearly gave up, but I tried again with the hotel website (again with a google translate )and managed to middle through it.||This seems to be limited to the website, once we arrived we could check in very easily without any language challenges.||The hotel is fairly well located, only a couple of tram stops from Hiroshima station (5-10 mins) or the A-dome/peace museum (~15 mins). Trams are regular so found it very easy to use this as a base for sight seeing. Would recommend getting either a one day or three day travel passes from the bus station upon arrival (we went for a three day pass which included all local travel inc the ferry to/from miyajima for only 1000yen - a bargain!)||The room we stayed in IS very small, although this in part is because it’s a business hotel so includes a decent sized desk and chair. I think this is pretty standard unless you’re willing to spend a lot more. Breakfast is very good with a selection of western / Japanese food.||Overall value for money is very good. For English visitors I would recommend muddling through the booking procedure - it was worth...
Read moreModern tasteful hotel, great breakfast.|Has a coffee bar, microwave in the lobby on your floor so you can prepare something instead of eating out every meal. Free wifi and multi adapter charger for phone. Vending machines for drinks on floor 1 are generally lower than street price. Like most Japanese hotels they will look after your bags before check in time or after you check out so you can get out and enjoy the time you have. |Only a few stops on the street car to the Peace Museum and Atomic bomb dome.|Also only a few stops in the opposite direction to Hiroshima station.|We couldn't secure reasonable price accommodation on Myajima Island so this worked well for us. Used a coin locker at Hiroshima station to stash our stuff and used Japan Rail and ferry pass to do Myajima as a day trip. Returned to Hiroshima and stayed at Hotel Active. Next morning Peace Museum.|Like most Japanese hotels space comes at a premium and big people probably won't like Japan as much as smaller build people who can easily get a good night's sleep, manage a shower or half bath size and enjoy a great breakfast for a very reasonable fee...
Read moreThis is a pretty standard business hotel. The rooms are small but clean and modern. It's fairly centrally located in Hiroshima which is somewhat convenient because it's a relatively small city and the hotel is about a 15 minute walk from Hiroshima station and 20 minutes or so from the peace memorial park. It's also quite close to lots of shopping and dining around Hatchobori. The staff spoke very little English but were very helpful when we asked questions regarding restaurants in our poor Japanese. We arrived before check-in time but were able to go through the check-in procedure and the hotel kept our luggage in the back room until we came back after our room was ready to pick up our luggage and room key. The available breakfast is a buffet with Japanese and western food available. Nothing too fancy about this hotel but it is comfortable and in a good,...
