Old hotel that could use some new wallpaper and lights to brighten up the place. The rooms and halls give off quite a depressive feeling but it’s only to overnight so not that big of a deal. It does seem that the non-smoking rooms used to be smoking rooms as the smell lingers in the entire hotel and room. The staff are very friendly and always greet you when you enter/leave and are very helpful with taking on your luggage if you arrive early so you can explore Hiroshima.
The downsides is that there is only 1 washer and dryer for the entire hotel, and that the WiFi implementation is honestly the worst I’ve seen. Milk and snacks and alcohol etc all available at two 7eleven corner stores very close. but all clean and functional. no evening meal in hotel but several cheap eating places within a couple of minutes walk eg open-air evening dining on the riverside or japanese versions of "fast food" ie much better than...
