It is a decent 20-25 min walk from the Hiroshima railway station, as it is not convenient (and in most cases not permitted) to take your suitcases in the trolley car/trams. It’s less than 10mins from Hiroshima Station by trolley bus to the Hatchbori stop and then a straight 5 min walk down the street to the hotel. ||In saying that it is just a 5 min walk to the main downtown shopping and dining areas.||The hotel itself is nothing special, with a handy 7/11 convenience store on ground floor and the lobby/dining area on 2nd floor. There are only two lifts so be prepared to wait during busy periods, the other option is to climb the stairs – not great if you have luggage. ||The reception staff understand basic English so don’t try to ask for anything too complex. The lounge area adjacent to the reception is sleek, modern and comfortable with views out onto the street. It does have a decent coffee machine & free biscuits. ||Our room was a moderate double (not certain what that means) but was not particularly large, although the toilet and bathroom separate. The double was comfortable but pushed up against the wall, which means not that easy to access, given that there was no cupboard space and limited hooks to hang anything. The washing sink was in the bedroom and the bathroom just had a shower/bath – little unusual for us Westerners. All your amenities: toothbrush, comb, razors, body towel, cotton swabs etc are only available at the reception desk. ||There is a coin laundry on the 9th floor (with clean and modern machines) and drink vending/ice machine on 5th / 12th floors – though there are no signs in the lifts or information in the rooms letting you know where they are.||They serve a Japanese/Western buffet breakfast in the dining room, Vista Café, on the 2nd floor, which is clean, modern cafeteria style room. It is open 6:30am – 10:00am and even though it was busy we never had to wait for a table. The food was fresh and they offered a good variety of dishes. Enjoyed the freshly cooked Hiroshima-okonomiyaki, though we did have better ones in the local restaurants. ||In summary the hotel was comfortable, the room a little small and in a reasonable location but nothing...
Read moreWe stayed at the Hotel Vista Hiroshima in a Superior Twin on 13F for 2 nights. This is a bit of a mixed review, because we absolutely loved our room, but the hotel itself has a few flaws.||First, it was absolutely worth it to pay for a Superior room. Our room was huge, and had tons of counter space, a separate shower / bath room where you could have either a Japanese-style seated shower or standing shower, or bath. There was a separate toilet room, and the sink was in the main room, which had a sliding door which closed it off from the hall, shower and toilet. There were 2 full-length mirrors plus a large mirror in the main room. There was also an open hall closet. In the main room there was a sofa and small table. After a series of small Japanese hotel rooms, we were absolutely thrilled with our room. Beds were comfortable and had 2 pillows each. There was a decent-sized window which opened partially to let in fresh air.||However, there are some flaws with the hotel. Firstly, there are only 2 small elevators for 14 floors so it could be very slow. Secondly we were disappointed with the laundry facilities on 9F. There were only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers in a tiny room with no room to fold clothes. People ended up lining up for the machines. There’s also no change machine so you need to have ¥ coins (¥300 for wash). Lastly, one of our family members booked a double room for 2 people and the bed was very small (the exact same size as the beds in our Twin room). ||In terms of location, we loved it as we were within walking distance of major sights such as the Peace Memorial Park, Shukkei-en, the main shopping arcade and okonomiyaki-mura. However it’s bit far (~17 min walk) from Hiroshima station. ||Overall the Superior room made...
Read moreFrom the moment I stepped into this strategically located hotel, I knew my stay would be something special. Nestled near the bustling city center, this accommodation strikes the perfect balance between urban accessibility and peaceful retreat. The prime location is undoubtedly one of this hotel's strongest assets. With the vibrant downtown area just steps away, you'll find yourself immersed in the city's energy without sacrificing convenience. The cherry on top? A convenience store right on the first floor, making those late-night snack runs or forgotten essentials a breeze.Inside, the property showcases meticulous attention to cleanliness throughout. What particularly impressed me was the thoughtful bathroom layout – separate toilet and bathing areas, a feature that elevates the entire experience and provides that extra touch of comfort that seasoned travelers will appreciate. My night's sleep was nothing short of blissful – comfortable bedding and a peaceful atmosphere ensured I awoke refreshed and ready for the day ahead. If I were to suggest one improvement, it would be the amenity distribution system. Currently, essentials like toothbrushes must be collected from a distribution area near the second-floor lobby, rather than being pre-placed in the room. This minor inconvenience is the only thing preventing an absolutely perfect score.Despite this small hiccup, my overall stay was exceptional. For travelers seeking convenience, cleanliness, and comfort in the heart of the city, this hotel delivers on all fronts. I departed well-rested and thoroughly satisfied – and isn't that exactly what we're all...
