Funaya Kura is beautifully and artistically designed with combinations of wood and tile and exquisite lighting. It looks like a place that would be featured in an architectural magazine or win design awards. The parking area was very convenient. There are two bathrooms and a large spa area with a rain shower and soaking tubs with ocean views. There is also a sauna. The inn provides many amenities including loungewear/pajamas. My favorite thing to do was sit on the chaise in the living area and watch the fishing boats pass by through the large window. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We also walked to the main part of town and took a boat ride, explored the shops, and enjoyed dinner. The service was phenomenal — when we were checking in she helped us make dinner reservations for both evenings and even booked us a private boat tour to pick us up at our boat house terrace. The private sauna, onsen, and little balcony off the primary bedroom were a perfect start and end to our days staying at the inn.
The ONLY thing I think this place needed was a few chairs on the boat terrace. The weather was perfect and we wanted to hang out there. There is a ledge to lean against the window but chairs would’ve been nice to have.
The location is perfect. We enjoyed walking around the area and into...
