APA Hotel Kanazawa Katamachi — Hotel in Kanazawa

Elegant hotel with small equipped room. We enjoyed our breakfast;it had everything for a tasty and healthy breakfast with different varieties though not elaborate. And the chef/man there at the breakfast was friendly and helpful. Thanks.

It was a smooth checkin and out and our bags were kept for free for us after checkout till when we came back to collect them.

One thing was the window,we were not able to open it and both when we checked-in and about to check-out,there was lots of water on the window from the inside of the room showing that the room was humid and that affect our sleep. But since we just stayed one night,we didn’t complain.

The Spa was included in our stay but it wasn’t in the hotel,it was 5mins walk...

It's possibly the smallest room I've ever stayed in. The air-conditioning didn't work, so there was no air coming into the room, so it heated up really fast. The outside temperature was 27c, making the room hot before we arrived. Reception knew the aircon wasn't working but still put us in that room. They didn’t seem to care and refused to move us to a room that had working air-conditioning. The best they offered was a portable fan or move us to another hotel at an additional charge. Very disappointing . We managed to open the window, offering some relief. Location was great. Close to eateries and...

I stayed here two nights. The staff were very nice, but spoke no english. My first night, I went to take a shower, and found the ceiling, around the tub, and under the sink coated with mold. I knew I couldn't speak enough Japanese to communicate with the staff, so I used my dictionary, looked up the word for mold, and showed them photos of the bathroom. They were nice enough to change my room, but the new one still had mold, just not as much. I didn't complain again, figuring that there wasn't much to be done, and the city was fairly booked for the week in my price range....
