Nice hotel in walking distance of the station. Typically sized small rooms. Clean. Staff were kind (although one day one of them ran up to me as I was returning to verify that I was a guest- you need a key card to use the elevators). Nice selection of tea in the room. 2 all-in-one washer/dryers in the women's locker room (2 hours for a full cycle) 60 Yen(?). Large area outside of the locker rooms with water and vending machines. Public bathrooms. Women's locker room had a code for entry that changes periodically. The ONE thing I wish they had was outdoor seating. The weather was gorgeous and there was nowhere to sit outside. I ended up sitting on the brick surrounding the sign. Loved visiting the bamboo forest, market and adjacent areas. Very large breakfast variety. Would stay again!

My wife and I stayed at the Small Double Room for one night, and we were impressed by the experience. The room boasts an elegant design with warm-toned lighting that creates a cozy atmosphere. While the toilet is compact, it has all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The hotel’s public bath was a highlight, offering ample space to unwind and relax. It's worth noting that the laundry room is located within the bath area, so plan accordingly. The buffet breakfast was another standout, featuring a wide variety of delicious dishes that catered to different tastes. Overall, the Almont Hotel Kyoto is an excellent choice for travelers seeking a business hotel with great facilities at a reasonable price. It’s a perfect spot to recharge during a trip.

This hotel is definitely worth a mention due to its exceptional value and the delightful experience I had throughout my stay. The level of service is so extraordinarily warm and attentive that it almost makes you feel guilty. The facilities are sparkling clean, and the rooms are generously spacious. The added bonus of a free ice machine and a grand bath available for guest use adds to the comfort of your stay. Located a short 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, it is not just convenient but the neighborhood remains safe even at night. Considering all these amenities and the location, the pricing is unbelievably affordable. This hotel is a gem not to be overlooked when staying in Kyoto.

Spacious and comfortably super clean. Location is walking distance to the train station. ||The Almont is very modern and contemporary with a traditional Japanese vibe and feeling. I simply don't understand what is "low key" about this hotel. I was treated like a celebrity from the moment I entered with my bags, looking completely disheveled after a day of traveling in the Japanese summer. They escorted me to the counter and then to the elevators. They gave me a frozen towel to cool off and matcha mochi ice cream. There's a beautiful onsen with safety features of a keycode that protects the women's area as well as the laundry!!

The room was the biggest room I have stayed in so far in my 3 weeks in Japan. It was insane. It was so comfy!!!

The staff treated me, a scraggly American tourist, like a queen. Every time I left or came back, every single person manning the front desk bowed to greet me (which I happily reciprocated!! It made me feel at home!!). This is so over the top for the price. I cannot recommend this enough. If I wanted this treatment in America, I'd have to pay $300 or so. I got it here for $80. Best choice ever. Close to the station with a 7-Eleven along the path. I highly...
