Read moreI simply don't understand what is "low key" about this hotel. I was treated like a celebrity from the moment I entered with my bags, looking completely disheveled after a day of traveling in the Japanese summer. They escorted me to the counter and then to the elevators. They gave me a frozen towel to cool off and matcha mochi ice cream. There's a beautiful onsen with safety features of a keycode that protects the women's area as well as the laundry!!
The room was the biggest room I have stayed in so far in my 3 weeks in Japan. It was insane. It was so comfy!!!
The staff treated me, a scraggly American tourist, like a queen. Every time I left or came back, every single person manning the front desk bowed to greet me (which I happily reciprocated!! It made me feel at home!!). This is so over the top for the price. I cannot recommend this enough. If I wanted this treatment in America, I'd have to pay $300 or so. I got it here for $80.
