Family inn Kei — Hotel in Kyoto

Michiko San the owner is the best host we've had staying in Japan! She was very warm and welcoming and made sure our needs were met during our stay. The location is great with three bus stops nearby to kyoto station, very close to tofukuji train station and walking distances to combinis and restaurants in the area. A brisk 10 minute walk to kyoto station from here. The Lawson 100 store was great for last minute and essential needs also around the corner.

The rooms were kept very clean and tidy and during our week stay we even had light cleaning by the staff for linens and towels and etc. They were very communicative thru whatsapp and michiko San lives in the complex and is there to answer any questions. They have a washing machine in the unit and also an old school video game console to play for free next to the washer/dryer combo next to the stairs and elevator. It had a shower and ofuro as well and the hot water works. Bidet was excellent as well in unit and a balcony to dry your clothes since there's no dryer here. In Japan it's not common to have dryers like they do in USA.

Superior Twin Room We had a nice room on 3rd floor (elevator) and were lucky that we could park the car right in front of the house. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Beds are very comfotable, there is a big closet and enough hangers for your clothes. Washingmaschine in the room. There is a basic kitchen but we didnt cook/eat in the room. The only table is the very small low table where the TV is located, so this was not sooo comfortable. But we guessed that before as it shows on the photos. We would stay there again,...

コロナ禍で飲食店で飲む事もできない。拘らない自炊目的ならスーパーは近くの100円ローソンで大体事足りるがあまりいい物は置いていない。パウダータイプのコーヒー・ﾊﾟｯｸの紅茶と緑茶あり。電子レンジもあり。小さなハンドタオルが台拭きとして置いてありありがたかった。食器水切り器は無く裏メッシュ地のタオルの上で乾かした。一番残念だったのは水道水が異様にカルキ臭い事…京都ってお水綺麗だと思ってたのに。100均で水を買っていく必要あり。 のでスポーツ観戦等には向かない。地デジのみ視聴可。インチは未確認だがTVがおそらく14インチくらい。TV台は無く小さ目のテーブルの上に置かれていたので、余ったテーブルに置くには2人分の飲み物と出前のピザのMサイズ位、後おつまみが限界かもしれない。 京都の夏は暑いせいか建物が黒いせいかエアコンが中々効かない。403号室は窓が2つあったがベランダ側大きい方の掃き出し窓は薄目のペーパーブラインドスクリーン・天窓風小さ目の灯り取りの窓はカーテンの類が無いのでお部屋の遮熱性が低いのだと思う。 バスタブはあるがお風呂が狭いので一人でも快適には入れない。普段からシャワーのみの方には充分かもしれない。給湯器付きでお湯の出も心配なし。コンディショナーがあるのは女性には嬉しい。ボディタオルや綿棒・カミソリや歯ブラシ等のアメニティはないので持参要。ドライヤーはあり。 洗濯機能は良くベランダには屋根があり、滑らないハンガーやタオル干し・小物干し用の小さ目のピンチ等ありがたい気遣い。備え付け洗剤は色柄物用漂白機能有りのキューブタイプ。柔軟剤や洗濯ネットは無いが近くの100均で買えば良い。 最上階4階の景観は遠く京都タワーが見渡せるけれど特別景観が良いわけでは無い。 基本的にお部屋は禁煙なので喫煙者の方にはお勧めしないが施設内に喫煙箇所があるらしい。 京都駅からは遠いが、バス停は歩いて3分。荷物が重くても多くてもエレベーターがあるので大変楽。 自覚あるタイプの潔癖症だがのはかなり高得点。あらゆるところを拭く内に汚れさえ落として行くくらいだが、それでも最新のビジネスorシティホテルよりティッシュが汚れなかったのは凄いと思った。連泊の際の余分なティッシュもありがたい。 何より15時チェックインの筈が荷物を預けたいと言ったらその日は空いていたのか、ありがたい事に12時頃にはチェックインしても良いと言ってもらえたのでホスピタリティの高い宿だと思う。延泊も空いていれば可能なよう。ありがたい。 希望を言えば浄水器が欲しい。後眩しいので遮光カーテン。またある程度の調味料や料理油・ザル等調理器具・ガラス風のコップや湯呑みやもう少しお皿の種類があると嬉しい。ラップやアルミホイル、パンでお魚を焼ける銀紙があると危なげないと思う。キッチン用のタオルをかける所やゴミ袋をかけるフック等もあると嬉しいが、100円のだと簡単に取れて盗まれ...
