MY ADVICE, GO TO RESOL HOTEL. SKIP THIS HOTEL. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT DO ANY EXTENSIONS. ||||We pre-book for 3 days (April 19 - April 22) and extended our stay a night before. At that time we made our extension, we were greeted by a single trainee girl which was very polite and helped us. No one was around at that time. After payment, we went back to our room. ||||30 minutes later we recieved a called from the counter and was told to bring our credit card. We wasn't sure what was going on so we went back to them. At the time, a "spectacle wearing fat sleepy staff" was seen to be lecturing the trainee. The trainee asked for our credit card and we asked her what was the matter. Instead of replying us, the male staff snatch the card from our hands and keep ignoring our questions. Continuingly we keep asking them what is going on and why he took our card without any explanation. Both of them keep ignoring us and seems to be doing something with the card. Finally the trainee girl produced a slip for us to sign and told us the amount was undercharged. We still insist for an explanation but they keep ignoring us. The male staff totally didn't looked at us the whole time and keep ignoring us. Finally we checked the amount again and sign it off and went back to our room. ||||Firstly the trainee made a mistake for undercharging us and didn't even apologize for her mistake. Secondly the male staff action was REALLY REALLY RUDE. Not only did he ignore us when questioned, he snatched the credit card from our hands with no explanation. I think I could press charges against him for that. I have never encountered such rudeness. Honestly, no explanation at all and he dare to snatch the credit card from the guest. As it was 1.00 am at that time, we try to put this aside and went to get our rest. ||||For anyone going to that place, be aware with a fat male staff that wear specs that seems to be working full time there on shift. We have stayed with Resol Hotel around that area and the attitude and service was 10 times way better. Will never go to that hotel again. Made my impression of Japan is different now. WORST service I have ever...
Read moreRead moreI spent a week in the Nest Hotel Kyoto Shijo-Karasuma from May 27- June 4. $65-80 /night. By the name of the hotel you know it could hardly be a better location if you are a tourist in Kyoto, unless you stayed at the NIKKO PRINCESS, if that is your style. It’s not mine.:)). While it is just 1-2 blocks off Shijo-dori and Karasuma-dori, it is a very quiet location where just walking around you can see one simple ‘real’ area of Kyoto, my favorite, by far. It is within 2-3 blocks of the Karasuma and Hankyu subway lines as well as several bus stops. If you are into “Madison Ave’ shopping, you are very close. Plus, you can walk to Gion in 20-25 minutes. Bike in 10 minutes.,(But, don’t take Shijo-dori. Take the little streets.) Etc etc. I would walk easily 3 hours every day, just because it is a great way to see Kyoto.|||||| I was not a tourist, but visiting friends, concerts, art exhibits, doing a little business, and mainly EATING ! Did I say eating? OK, if that is your thing you are in luck. On the corner, is TEMPURA ARIMA. Around the corner is SUSHI SENTA and another block brings you to SUKEMASA an old local gyoza joint. All three of these places will knock your socks off and won’t break the bank.. There are a myriad of other places within 2-7 minutes. BUT, if you walk east on Bukkoji-dori and cross Karasuma, walk another block or 2 you are on the south western edge of an eaters paradise. Within a 1-20 minute walk north or east, between here, Nishiki Market and the Kamogawa, there are probable hundreds of eateries of all shapes and sizes. Mostly very small, like YOSHIOKA TEMPURA !!! on the corner of Bukkojo-dori and Takakura-dori. ||||OK, THE NEST- new, modern ‘minimalist.’ Very friendly helpful reception; all the basic amenities, small rooms but very comfortable beds, great shower, very good breakfast, especially Japanese style. ||||I’d recommend it in...
Please be cautious of this hotel!!this hotel deliberately upsets guests and has a negative attitude in communication. After posting on sns, many netizens have reported the same issues, suggesting that this is a habitual offender. Upon checking in on November 20th, there were many foreigners on the first floor, yet the front desk did not speak English. On November 21st at 6 PM, upon returning to the hotel, I found my pillowcase carelessly thrown on the sofa and a bottle of cosmetics spilled on the bathroom counter. When I called the front desk, there was not a single apology; I had to explain the situation myself. I requested to speak with the manager, but was told that they had already left for the day and I would have to wait until the next evening. On November 22nd at 6 PM, I returned to the hotel, initially deciding not to make an issue of it, only to find three pieces of clothing from my suitcase thrown on the floor! This was the second time! It was definitely intentional! I never expected the hotel to be so shady and disgusting! They did not respond when I confronted them. They argued that it was merely a matter of improper item placement and that everything in the room had been normal upon previous inspection, implying that I was the one who threw the clothes on the floor. Even intervention from the platform was futile; the hotel seemed to be confident that there was no way to hold it accountable, which is why it dared to act...
