Location was very convenient. Very close to many restaurants, DONKI and convenient stores. They don’t have a parking but they have few that have partnerships with. They have a discount if you park overnight. You can ask hotel in advance for the address or see photo below. (Hotel may update) you just need to get the tickets and before you get your car the next day, bring the tickets to the hotel they will charge you at the reception. The room is abit small but it’s like most hotels if located in busy areas which is ok. The toilets was the worst part, it looks clean BUT IT SMELL SOOOOO BAD! 🤢🤢🤢 it’s like sweaty smell and things been damp for a long time. I tried spraying some fragrance spray that they provide but it still smells so bad. Therefore I try to use the toilet as fast as possible coz the smell makes it feel dirty. During our stay my husband wasn’t feeling well so I ask for an extra blanket which I can use separately but the blanket was like sand paper which i gave up using. 😩 They have onsen here but it’s quite small, only one indoor and one outdoor. And when I was leaving the onsen late at night I saw towels just laying on the floor though I’m not sure what they are for 🧐🧐🧐. I wouldn’t say it’s a very good hotel specially with all the mention above but their location and customers service made up for it. All the staff was friendly and super helpful. Specially the elderly staff that was there for few nights shifts. He was very friendly and helped me a lot....
Read moreCentral to everything: Okaido is a major stop for local buses, highway buses, and streetcars. The nearby shopping arcade has lots of shopping and food options, too, and the castle ropeway is just a five minute walk. Unless you plan on using the JR station every day, it's hard to find a better spot.
The rooms on the south side of the building have balconies with an outdoor couch, and they're surprisingly spacious. I think I would prefer more space in the room, perhaps to make the bathrooms bigger, but it's a nice amenity if the weather's good. A retractable awning or something would make it more usable in summer.
The beds and pillows were just right, not too soft but not too firm. There's a little living room area with a couchlet and table, which are decent for a laptop but not as good as an actual desk. The bathroom is on the smaller side but there's no tub, so the shower stall is big enough to move around in.
The bathhouse is nice, with both an indoor and outdoor soaking tub. The men's side has a view of the shopping street below, which I bet would've been cool if I could see without...
Read moreThis was my third trip to Japan, and I can say without a doubt that Candeo Hotels Matsuyama Okaido is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in this country. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind, and I was so relieved that they spoke excellent English, which made check-in and asking for recommendations a breeze. Every interaction was a pleasure.
The real highlights for me were the amenities. The spa is absolutely amazing – so relaxing and luxurious, it was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring Matsuyama. Waking up to the beautiful views from my room was incredible, and the breakfast spread was equally amazing. There was such a wide variety of delicious options, and it was the best start to my day.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It truly made my trip special, and I will absolutely be staying here again on my next visit to Japan. Thank you to the entire team for such a...
