We were here at the end of March. Our hotel stay was pleasant and comfortable. The room was a bit small for two people, but in my experience, this is typical of hotels in Japan.
Bath essentials and a hair dryer were provided in the room. There was conveniently also a multi-port charging cable. A self-serve toiletries station was in the lobby, containing a great array of useful items one could easily forget to bring on a trip. The little sachets of skincare products came in very handy because my skin unexpectedly got quite dry.
We felt that breakfast was good value. It was a half buffet, so you pick a main and are then free to select items from the buffet. Food was ample and delicious.
The reason for my average rating is due to a peculiarity that occurred. When my husband and I checked in, they claimed that we had booked a smoking room. We thought we had made a mistake, so we asked if we could upgrade, but there were apparently no more rooms available. The staff member went to the back to presumably speak with a manager and they somehow were able to find us a non-smoking room. We were grateful for this.
However, when my parents arrived a day later and I was there to help them check in, they were told that, although they had booked a non-smoking room, there was none available so they were going to be put in a smoking room. Strange. The staff member, sensing my parents’ displeasure, was then able to magically find a non-smoking room. He said that it was also bigger than the original room. How fortuitous. I accompanied them to their room and… it was exactly the same size as ours—cramped for two people.
From my perspective, having witnessed this situation twice, they seem to go through this rigmarole to rectify a nonexistent problem in an attempt to appear accommodating, leaving you feeling grateful for their help. Although it’s mostly a harmless little act, your stay begins with consternation if they try this on you. It doesn’t completely put me off from booking here again because we did have a good stay, but if there’s an equivalent option in the area, I’d be easily tempted away, as we didn’t appreciate this...
Read moreStayed here for 3 nights and was overall very happy with my experience, particularly the friendly and helpful staff, excellent location and adequate room.
I came from Nagoya station so it was a pleasant 15 mins walk, however if you have heavy luggage which I didn’t it can get tricky. The good news is there is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel, so if you know how to use it then it should be easy.
The rooms are typical Japanese business style room, but I would say a little more spacious. Nothing stood out but everything worked and was well maintained.
The location I thought was great, because it was in a quiet area, yet closeby to heaps of restaurants and shopping and a walkable distance to the train station.
The also provide Yamato Transport service and helped ship by heavy luggage onto my next hotel.
I would happily...
