The host promptly acknowledges your reservation and guides you to a well-set table, offering to take your coat or bags if needed.
The service is attentive without being intrusive. As you settle in, the server introduces themselves with a friendly demeanor and provides a brief overview of the menu, highlighting any specials or recommendations based on your preferences. They’re knowledgeable about the dishes, answering your questions with ease and offering personalized suggestions. If you have dietary restrictions, the server is both accommodating and reassuring, checking with the kitchen if necessary.
Once your order is placed, the timing of the service is impeccable. Drinks arrive promptly, followed by appetizers that are plated beautifully and at the perfect temperature. The server checks in subtly, making sure everything is to your liking without interrupting the flow of conversation at your table.
The main course is a revelation of flavors, each dish artfully presented and cooked to perfection. Portions are well-sized, leaving you satisfied but not overly full, with just enough room for dessert. Throughout the meal, your water glasses are refilled discreetly, and empty plates are cleared efficiently, never leaving you feeling rushed or neglected.

Has anyone else felt that this restaurant doesn’t seem to welcome foreign guests?
On 08/27/2025, we arrived at 8 PM. A long-haired waitress, without a smile, asked if we had a reservation. I said yes, and she led us to our reserved table.
We were obviously foreigners and couldn’t read the Japanese menu. I asked for an English menu, but she only gave me the English drink menu during dinner time and left within a second. I had to ring the bell again to ask for the English food menu, and she still showed no hint of a smile. We felt like we were bothering them whenever we asked for help.
When ordering, despite it being clear we weren’t Japanese, another waitress kept speaking to us in Japanese, rushing us to order without any attempt to translate. After some back-and-forth, she finally used her phone to translate and said she wanted us each to order a drink. I used a translator to tell her in Japanese that we needed time to look at the menu. She walked away looking annoyed but at least this waitress started with a smile.
Throughout the meal, the long-haired waitress kept a bad attitude. At one point, I took my child to the restaurant’s restroom. My child, walking ahead of me, curiously peeked into an empty room (without entering). I noticed this long haired waitress giving us a harsh look from the corner of my eye.
When we finished our meal and were leaving, I glanced at the open kitchen. Several staff were there, but none said “Thank you for coming” or “See you again.”
I mean waiter/ waitress don’t have to smile or be chatty, but after visiting other restaurants in the past few days, I can’t help but compare their services.
The food quality was decent here (except my soup had an eggshell in it!?), the service needs improvement.
Based on other reviews, I’m probably not the only one who’s noticed problems with this restaurant’s service.
As a traveler with only a few days in Nagoya, this isn’t the experience I...
Read morePicture this: beautifully marbled Wagyu A5 beef, grilled over charcoal to a fragrant perfection, crispy on the outside yet meltingly tender on the inside... Mouthwatering already, right? But it gets even better! It's served in the Nagoya-style Hitsumabushi, a way you might be familiar with from the popular grilled eel rice!
One set offers three ways to enjoy it:
Original Bliss: Simply scoop the tender, subtly sauced beef with the fragrant rice and savor the pure flavors. Elevate the Taste: Mix in the provided condiments for an extra layer of delicious complexity. Slurp it Down Smoothly: Pour over the restaurant's special dashi broth for a warm, comforting, and utterly satisfying experience! Trust me, indulging in premium Wagyu A5 like this is pure bliss! But here's the catch: this incredible dish is limited to just 10 sets per day (lunchtime only)! For the ultimate creamy richness, we highly recommend adding a raw egg yolk on top – it's a match made in heaven!
If you're planning a trip to Nagoya, make sure to put this restaurant at the top...
