Stayed here with my family for 3 nights in Nara and the facilities and ammenities were absolutely mind boggling in its scope. It is luxury in its widest sense.
The room was very pleasantly decorated with comfortable beds and a generous amount of pillows (I had 4 on my bed). The blanket was fluffy and cloud like.
The complimentary toiletries were something I had never seen before, even in places like the Sydney Westin. Besides the usual suspects of shampoo, conditioner and body wash, they even FACE WASH, CLEANSER AND TONER! They also had nice yukata waiting for us hanging on the rack.
Then the thing that blew my mind the most was the complimentary smart phone! A whole smart phone there for you. Ever handy for the tourist who needs internet connection, this phone allows for browsing and even local and international calls.
What a wild concept.
Some points of improvement though: the room was a little small, with our rather hefty luggage taking up so much space that there wasnt much room to manouver. There wasnt a closet for our winter coats but there was just a simple hat rack like thing which we used as our coat rack.
All in all, this hotel is extreme value for money. A single or couples travelling together would find this place incredibly luxurious. A small, young family of 3 would also love the facilities though bigger families with older kids may find the size challenging. The bells and whistles included definitely make this hotel a stand out and so if you're ever in Nara, book a room in...
Read moreStraight 10 stars hotel. Staffs are the most professional, polite and helpful especially the tall male staff in glasses. He adds a magical touch to the classiness of the whole hotel. This hotel is very clean, quiet and comfortable. The most important thing is that you can feel that this hotel cares about you a lot! With a lot I mean even probably more than your mother in law does! They provide the foot bath for guest’s comfort and even have phone chargers for us to use next to it with side tables. It feels like being at home. Even in the room, they provide charger and most things that you need. You are able to borrow many things that you need additionally from the hotel as well. They also sell souvenirs and beers and even give out free water and mini toys for children to play. What a thoughtful and wonderful hotel. I have been travelling in Japan for 1.5 months now and this is absolutely the best hotel in terms of being caring and thoughtful. One is sure to feel happier here than to be in their mother in law home. The only mini negative is the strange bathroom that has a step up which is...
Read moreThis hotel is not what you expect. The rooms are old, ugly, and downright depressing. The smell is unbearable, and the floor looks like it hasn't been replaced in decades. Curtains everywhere, giving the impression that you're walking into a coffin. The sink drains into the bathtub – who thought that was a good idea?
The washing machine and dryer are a complete waste of money. They barely work and seem more like a gimmick to squeeze more money out of guests. Don't even bother with them.
Breakfast is another nightmare. It feels more like an Indian kitchen, or better yet, a Bollywood kitchen. The food is tasteless and there’s hardly anything to eat. The coffee is no better – it tastes like dirty water.
To top it all off, the internet is a joke. Even on the fourth floor, the connection is almost non-existent. It's unsecured and without a password, which is a huge security risk. This place is a complete disaster. Save your money and stay...
