Tori Tamura is definitely the place to go for chicken in Nara.
Located about 2 minutes from the Nara JR station.
The izakaya has 2 floors - the first floor has tables and counter top seating and the 2nd floor can accommodate larger parties.
It had a great atmosphere and nice decor to it.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming - service with a smile.
The food was amazing - ordered many things and pretty much everything was delicious. I really liked the negi tori (green onions and chicken), spring rolls, deep fried cheese, gobo fries, sticky potatoes, chicken wasabi, chicken wings, pork belly, mini hamburgs and garlic & chicken.
They have a great selection of alcoholic drinks, including Heartland beer (one of my favourite beers in Japan).
There is an English menu available, but some of the “specials” are in Japanese only - will need to use Google translate if you can’t read Japanese.
Will definitely be back again...

Beer cold, which is important after a long day wandering round Nara. Seems to get crowded in the evening, so recommend getting there on the dot of 5:30, or making a reservation, which will require Japanese. Menus available, and very understandable, in English, if you are not fluent...
