my family and I haven't visited Nara for so long and wanted to come back to this beautiful city, although the I did some research on what to do and where to go I'd like to reconfirm it with the tourist information center. I went into the middle counter and this lady was very unwelcoming from the start, no smile no greetings. I open the map and reconfirm with her which is the best route to go and she just hand me a leaflet use a pencil to mark on it and actually say "you can go read it yourself" and "do you need anything else" with a stern face. I've visited Japan more than 20times in my life and have never met a Japanese with this attitude. Read morePlease stop by and visit if you are in Nara! The staff here are incredibly welcoming, and super helpful. We stopped here to use the prayer facilities, and whilst we were waiting, a friendly member of staff offered to teach us to make origami. We sat and made origami deer, they wrote out our names in Japanese, and even the meaning and how to write it. They made us feel very welcome, we ended up spending close to 30mins here, because of how sweet they were!
