I really, really loved this place!
Read moreHigh tech, but replaces humans with technology. No lobby or staff, entering the hotel feels like you're in an escape room after the sliding front door opens with an entrance code provided to you beforehand via email. The check in is just two tablets with two people working from home. There is only one elevator, which is quite slow and small and has carpeted walls(???) which I assume is for noise suppression. The rooms are very nice and modern with a kitchen and balcony. Separate toilet and bathroom. The mirror in the shower is kinda sketchy, its in a completely useless spot, concerned it was a two way mirror with a camera considering how hightech the rest of the hotel is. With no room service it feels more like an apartment rather than a hotel. No rain shower unfortunately despite the modern theme and the VERY high water pressure (the shower feels like needles when set to the highest setting, do not recommend). Short walk to a metro station, which however isnt covered by the JR Rail Pass, so instead you have to walk 10 minutes to Shin Imamiya station to make use of your pass. There is a good shopping street about a 5 minute walk (Shinsekai Market) with a tall tower...

We arrived Osaka from Kyoto in morning and expected the hotel would have a space for us to store our luggage. However, there is no one and no lobby. We were not even able to enter the building. After an hour of waiting without knowing what to do, a staff came down to simply tell us we can't do anything but wait until 4. We would get an email for instructions and password to get in.
Seriously? He was not helpful at all. We were forced to sit in McDonald's so we could sit down, eat and wait for 6 hours. Great. The whole day is gone just because they couldn't even allow us to store our luggage in our room.
When it's time to check in, it's video remote. we were asked to scan all 4 passports to check in. Where is our privacy?
When you travel, it's important for us to have a space to store our luggage. Common sense. Essential service. But they simply have no one to offer you any help or advice.
Try all efforts...
