Location is definitely its best asset. Drawback however is if you are not used to hearing vehicles passing by as it is located in a major high-way road. On a positive note, it is very near the East Exit of Shinimamiya JR station and even relatively near for the Nankai Line and JR’s West Exit.||While it is true, the hotel is old and outdated, the LOWEST possible payment I have found in Japan more than makes up for it. Paid for about JPY 1100 (or approximately PhP 550 / USD 10.something)||Cleanliness depends on the hotel location. The lounge was not clean when I stayed there after the Nankai train incident during my arrival after hotel reception hours. Rest room on the 6/F has a funny smell (Karaage-like but not the restaurant type of smell).||Space is expected to be limited but if you can work within minimal space it will do. Your luggage though will serve as your drawer. There are plenty of hangers on my room assignment so at least I have 2-day worth of wardrobe prepared.||Shower (for male) if you are aware of onsen style can be off putting and make you uncomfortable. They exchange a shower locker key for your rook key temporarily while you take a bath (sometimes with other people but on rare occasion you might be finally alone - like opening time at 6AM)||Security / Privacy may be concerning since visitors stay in the lobby (as verified by them during my supposedly check in) in the after hours of the day. Anyone can literally just go inside since the door has no pin lock unlike the hotels I have stayed in Japan previously.||Lastly, the staff members were mostly (if not all Senior Citizen) as far as I have observed. I was trying to find their website so I can communicate with them directly but apparently they don’t have. So I just communicated with them via Booking.com Chat function but their response may be dependent on their staff who may have knowledge in conversing in English.||Overall, I am still satisfied and will choose the same hotel if the price would be relatively lower than other options. However, if it is quite comparative then I would probably opt out to get to try if other options would be more...

Hotel Diamond is in a perfect location (just a 7 minute walk to Sinsakai) but surely you can find other budget hotels, or hostels in the same area. But unless your budget is extremely tight, don't go to this hotel. A night would cost you only 1,000YEN (yes that's around US$8,00/night). Shared bathroom. I mean literally. As in, you will be showering naked together with middle-aged to senior people (mostly Japanese) like you're showering at the gym. It was funny on my first night when I joined a walking tour group, and the tour leader was walking us around the block, which he described as the 'slum area' of Osaka. I just kept very quiet as we walked past Hotel Diamond. The tour guide said this is where unemployed or itinerant locals sleep for a few nights (they're not allowed to live there permanently) so they hop from one similar accommodations to another. Gun possession is not allowed in Japan, so the crime rate is almost non-existent in this area (at least that's what my tour guide told us). I felt quite safe walking home at night. Again, this is a good place if you're on a tight budget. You'll have your own small room with air-conditioning, and a small bar-fridge. Toilets are shared also but is separate from the...

For this kind of room, i kinda say it was affordable at that time, i booked around 1000 yen for one night, and yeah, what was I supposed to expect. Okay, this my review for you. - Room Yeah, I know, it was cramped. At that time I only brought a medium size suitcase, bag and sling bag. And that’s all. Even though, it was cramped, there’s still genkan inside it. Very japanese. TV was worked, AC was kinda broken, but i think that’s worked too. Idk if it’s the room or the futon, but kinda smell. - interior hotel Nostalgic, looks like 80-90s building. If you watch some drama shows, maybe it will be reminding you. - location Near doubutsuen subway entrance. Not so hard to find some nice food stalls. If I’m not mistaken, not really far from Tennoji area, a lot of interesting shops around there. But, yeah, this area was not kinda Japanese sosial I expected. I can say, they are “more free”. Conclusion: Everything was fine, but maybe for the note, you need to bring your own toiletries and amenities. And also, if you wanna take a bath in the morning, not a really good idea, because the ofuro is not ready at that time.
