Starbucks may be one of the convenient places to hang out with my friends or just by myself... Personally I use starbucks stores quite often in my life.
Today my family had awful and unbelievable experience at this store in Tenmabashi station, located at Keihan city mall 1st floor. My husband purchased a cup of mango Frappuccino at the store. He grabbed the chair right outside of the store "terrace area" and sat with his son to enjoy the son-daddy's day. There were no foods for my son (4years old) to be able to eat at the store unfortunately. So instead, he was eating his own snack at the table while they were sitting outside. What I could not believe was that the barista came outside of the store to reach my husband and said "PACK AND GO"...It's because 4 year old boy was eating non Starbucks products.
Are they serving the universal foods and drinks that anyone can consume???? How much selections do they have??? Do they have any pastries which allergens were eliminated??? Have they thought about the facts that some people have some conditions????? Have they thought about being more flexible on service?????
I was so upset that I could not help making a call to the store manager to discuss about this service. I explained the whole situation to this guy. Another disappointed comment was heard from this manager. There was no apology, of course. Instead he was proudly saying " YES! it'a because we are not allowed the people to bring the foods from the outside." I understand this type of rules for restaurants. However, my husband did not just sit there without making a purchase. He did purchased their drink! He just sat with his son, and our son was eating his stuff that he can eat.
I asked this manager what if the customer has some health conditions that he/she is not able to consume some specific ingredients. After expressing what I mentioned above, the manager finally apologized.
Rule is rule. I totally understand that they don't want their customers to bring their own. However the staff need to see the situation in the big picture. I strongly feel that they are required to handle the situation with flexibility especially when they have limited items and selections.
I've never been disappointed with Starbucks so much. It was worst experience at...
Read moreThe staff has always been very quick and polite, usually offering to speak English to me, and the location is really good. When the weather is good, outside is nice, but the wifi doesn't always reach there. Since there are no bigger tables inside, this isn't the best place to meet a group. If you're alone, you'll probably find a place to sit down even during...
