There is no option to control the temperature in your room, which is a bit inconvenient since the room can seem stuffy if you're just coming in from the cold wearing layers. We have to open windows to let some cooling in, but that comes with the sacrifice of letting noise and outside smells into the room.
When we first checked in, we informed the front desk that we would like housekeeping (you have to tell them the day before). When we got to our room, we noticed the air conditioner was very dirty! We reported it to the front desk and they transferred us to a different room. However, the next day when we came back from our activities, our room had not been cleaned. They failed to note the change in room so our new room had not been listed for housekeeping.
The staff is nice, polite, and were apologetic, but they should have handled the situation with our new room better.
The location is right beside a train station but quite far from the attractions in Osaka, so not ideal if you want to be able to pop in and out of your hotel throughout the day in the middle of sightseeing, but good if you're spending the whole day out. I like that the tv in the room has options for Netflix/Hulu/Youtube etc so you can use your own accounts to watch. Also near a convenience store and a market. The coin laundry has automatic detergent dispensing so no need to...
Read moreI booked the 11 sqm double bed room for ¥34,658 for 6 nights, a last minute offer. The hotel decor is new and modern. I can open 1 small suitcase and 1 medium suitcase in the room. It's perfect for one person but definitely not for 2. Do book the bigger rooms for 2 and above. Double bed in japan is bigger than super single but smaller than queen. Hotel is located along Yotsubashi Blue line. It is a few stops away from Namba, Shinsaibashi, Umeda etc. You probably need to spend 200 to 400 yen more per day for transport than if you stayed in the centre of tourist attraction. There's a big supermarket, lawson and McDonald's nearby. I highly recommend the Western restaurant Perotto, delicious and affordable japanese-western food. There are 2 coin-operated washing machine cum dryer. Free basic toiletries provided. Bathroom comes with a tub. No daily cleaning but you can request when you need. I didn't have issue with road traffic. There's ambulance sound but not too loud and lasted very shortly. My room view is facing towards a building staircase because I asked for quiet room. All in all, this hotel is good value and comfort and I might...
Read moreThe hotel looks quite new and the room had a decent size, conveniently located close to public transport and a few convenience stores. We stayed on the 10th floor, but unfortunately the view was just a black wall with a narrow alley in between. The windows are single-glass, so we had a lot of noise from outside at night, which made it hard to sleep. The pillows were also quite flat and not very comfortable.
Breakfast comes with three options: a granola bowl with yoghurt and fruit, or a plate with a croissant, egg, sausages and some greens. The food itself was fine, but the portions were rather small. What was disappointing is that you only get one small cup of coffee or tea included, and you have to pay extra for a refill.
In many other hotels, a breakfast buffet usually comes with unlimited coffee and tea which is contradictory here since you can take complimentary coffee sachets to your room. After my granola bowl I was still hungry, and it felt a bit stingy that even a simple coffee refill...
