A Hidden Gem with Exceptional Service!!
The Sheraton Miyako Osaka might not be the first hotel that comes to mind when visiting Osaka, but it certainly has a lot to offer. As a Marriott property, I was confident that my Titanium elite status would be well recognized, and I was pleased with the reasonable pricing, especially since they provided an extra bed—a huge plus when traveling with kids.
One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was its convenient access from both Itami (ITM) and Kansai International Airport (KIX). My father was arriving from KIX, and I was concerned about him navigating the subway with luggage. Fortunately, I discovered that there are direct, non-stop airport buses from both airports to the hotel, making it incredibly convenient.
Before my arrival, I reached out to the hotel to request two rooms close to each other and an extra bed for one of them. Unlike many Marriott properties that offer a standard response about upgrades being subject to availability at check-in, the Sheraton Miyako Osaka promptly confirmed that they would make the arrangements and upgrade both rooms. When I checked in around 3 PM, everything was set, and my luggage, which I had forwarded from a previous hotel, was already waiting in my room.
The perks of my stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel provided complimentary breakfast for three people (including my 10-year-old), waived the charge for the extra bed, and granted me lounge access. The breakfast spread was impressive, surpassing many Sheraton properties in the U.S., with a well-balanced selection of both Western and Japanese cuisine. My kids particularly enjoyed the udon noodles and rice balls. The lounge also offered a smaller breakfast selection, but it was more than sufficient, and in the evening, I appreciated being able to enjoy a few glasses of sake.
The only downside is that the rooms, like many in Japan, are on the smaller side and could benefit from some renovations, particularly with new carpeting. However, the beds were comfortable, and the level of service more than made up for any minor shortcomings. In fact, after checking out, we realized we had left some belongings behind, and the hotel went out of its way to mail them back to us—truly exceptional hospitality.
The location is another highlight. The hotel is directly above a subway station, offering easy access to Namba, Osaka Station, and other key destinations, including direct lines to Nara and Kobe. Additionally, it is connected to a department store with a Uniqlo, a 100-yen shop, and plenty of dining options, making it incredibly convenient.
If I return to Osaka and want to stretch my budget without sacrificing comfort or service, the Sheraton Miyako Osaka would undoubtedly be at the...
Read moreI am writing to complain against Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka about the terrible experience of my stay on 8 april, 2014. I believe that lived in Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka is the worst decision I made for the Osaka tour. It is ingrained in my mind that the Sheraton is a reputed five-star hotel group. Before I checked in at Superior Twin Room about 11pm with my family, I can never imagine what I would experience. When I came inside the room, my skin itches that keeping me scratch myself and I wonder it is caused by the dry weather of Osaka. But now I doubt it. I started pack up the newly buy stuff on the bed and after that I find something is fall off the gap between the bed sheets of two joined together bed. Everything till now seems normal, right? I pick the thing up and found that it is a piece of chocolate which didn’t belong to us. We are too tried to think about it and go to sleep. The nightmare began on the next morning, the awful stink of the bathtub curtains make me start to think about the sanitary situation of the hotel room. And I aware that something get wrong! Curiosity killed the cat, this time curiosity makes my family feel disgusting. I found a used slipper under my bed while we haven’t open any of them, even worse, one used sock that ,again, do not belong to any of us is appear under another bed. The most horrible thing is thinking of the piece of chocolate found at the first night. How can it be discovered between the gaps of the bed sheets? Is that meaning that the bed sheets are unchanged? How come the room are not been cleaned while they got enough time (12hours, from people checked out to my check in time)? What have the previous tenant done on the sheets? It is inconceivable to believe a hotel with reputation can provide service like this. Is it too harsh for me to request a cleaned room after I pay a lot of money? Isn’t it the basic requirement that difficult to fulfill? Ironically, a so-call five star hotel claimed provide ‘’Osaka’s tradition of ‘sincere hospitality’ awaits you enjoy the time of for relaxation, pleasure and recreation” ruined my...
