A Delightful Stay at JR Hotel Clement TakamatsuI recently had the pleasure of staying at JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. This hotel, conveniently located next to Takamatsu Station and offering breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea, combines comfort, luxury, and exceptional service in a way that makes it a top choice for both leisure and business travelers.Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the hotel’s elegant exterior and welcoming atmosphere. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, handled by friendly and professional staff who made me feel right at home. Their ability to converse in multiple languages was a notable plus, especially for international visitors like myself. The room I stayed in was nothing short of spectacular. Spacious, well-appointed, and featuring a contemporary design, it provided a perfect blend of functionality and comfort. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep after a long day of exploring. One of the highlights of the room was the panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea, which was especially stunning at sunrise and sunset. The room also included modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV, free high-speed Wi-Fi, and a well-stocked minibar. The hotel’s dining options are another aspect worth highlighting. I had the opportunity to dine at several of the on-site restaurants, and each meal was a culinary delight. The breakfast buffet at “The Dining” offered a wide variety of both Western and Japanese dishes, all of which were fresh and delicious. The sushi at “Seto,” the hotel’s Japanese restaurant, was some of the best I’ve ever had, prepared with the freshest ingredients and utmost care. The staff at the restaurants were attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience. One of the standout features of JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu is its array of facilities. The fitness center is well-equipped and maintained, allowing guests to keep up with their workout routines. I also took advantage of the hotel’s spa services, which were incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating. The massage I received was one of the best I’ve experienced, leaving me feeling completely refreshed. Additionally, the hotel’s rooftop bar offers a spectacular view of the city and the sea, making it an ideal spot to unwind in the evening. The hotel’s location is another significant advantage. Being adjacent to Takamatsu Station, it provides easy access to local transportation, making it convenient to explore the city and its surroundings. The nearby Ritsurin Garden, one of Japan’s most famous historical gardens, is a must-visit, and the hotel’s proximity to the ferry terminal makes it easy to take a day trip to the nearby islands of the Seto Inland Sea.What truly sets JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu apart is the exceptional service provided by the staff. Every interaction I had with the hotel team was marked by warmth, professionalism, and a genuine desire to ensure my stay was perfect. They were always ready to assist with any request, providing helpful recommendations and making arrangements that enhanced my overall experience. In conclusion, my stay at JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu was exceptional in every way. The combination of luxurious accommodations, outstanding dining, excellent facilities, and top-notch service makes this hotel a standout choice in Takamatsu. Whether you are visiting for business or leisure, I highly recommend JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu for an unforgettable stay. I look forward to my next visit and the opportunity to experience their...

I think this was my seventh time at the JR Clement, which has to be the best place to stay in Takamatsu City. It was great to have a full view of Takamatsu Castle again (I'd requested a castle view, I book directly), and it was even better than the last time I stayed as I could see a lot of sea as well. The 14th floor offers good vision as it's not too high and not too low. ||I had a spacious twin room with nice natural light. The main electric light was adjustable from a console by the bed which also allowed for air conditioning adjustment and turning the lights on and off. There were two lamps in the room too. Elegant furniture with lovely wood, attractive fabrics and wall mirror. There were two easy chairs and a little table as well as a good sized desk with its own comfortable chair. Medium-sized tv. I appreciated having drawers - some hotels only have hanging space. There was a safe. The wifi worked well, and a free newspaper was provided every morning. ||The bathroom was a great size with heaps of bench space, a large sink, a long bath and a big mirror. There was a retractable clothes line I made use of, and good quality complimentary facial care products. The bathroom door though did keep swinging to close and hit me in the back a couple of times - not sure if there was a way to keep it open. ||The coffee and tea cups here are the right size for Japanese tea, but a bit small for coffee (except espresso) or English tea. It'd be good the hotel considered providing drip coffee or a capsule machine instead of instant. Two bottles of water were provided very day. ||As usual, staff were pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. ||The hotel's location is perfect, a couple of minutes from the JR Station and the bus hub, five minutes from the castle and the port from where you can get ferries or fast boats to the art islands. Also, Takamatsu-chikko Station from where you can get a train to the wonderful garden Ritsurin Koen (or it's a walk of about 2km, which can partly be done through one of Japan's longest shopping arcades). There is also a taxi rank just outside, as well as many shops and eateries (including a clothes and gift shop, and a bridal store on the hotel's ground floor). The hotel has its own restaurants and a good breakfast buffet, as well as a patisserie selling delicious cakes and pastries. Room service meals were excellent. ||Looking forward...

We stayed at JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu for one night on 6/12, and overall, the experience leaned more positive than negative.

Check-in was super smooth, and the staff member who greeted us was very polite and showed great hospitality. The room itself was in great shape—well-maintained and clearly renovated in parts. The only downside was the bathroom, which had a bit of a musty smell. It wasn’t unbearable, but it could definitely use an update.

Things took a bit of a turn later in the evening, though. Around 8 pm, we went to the front desk to ask about sending our luggage to another hotel. We were hoping to get more details on what we needed to do, but the lady at the desk (I think her name was タシン) was, to put it mildly, not very helpful. Her responses were pretty short and came across as a bit condescending. When we asked for more specifics, she just repeated the same line: “Just bring your luggage and the address,” without offering anything else. While she wasn’t outright rude, the vibe was completely different from the friendly welcome we’d gotten at check-in. It left us feeling frustrated and a bit lost.

We ended up doing some of our own research and found out the other hotel needed the address, the guest's name, and the check-in date—info that we had to figure out on our own.

The next morning, though, things got much better. Around 5:30 am on 6/13, we came back to the front desk to send our luggage off. This time, Ms. Kato helped us, and she was fantastic. She was patient, super detailed, and even took the extra step of calling the other hotel to double-check everything. We really appreciated her thoroughness, especially since the other hotel’s FAQ didn’t mention needing permission. She was the only one working the desk at that time, handling a bunch of check-outs, but she never seemed rushed or annoyed. She made sure all the forms were filled out properly, and we could tell she genuinely cared about making the process as smooth as possible for us.

Ms. Kato really demonstrated what true hospitality is all about, and we were grateful for her kindness and professionalism. If it wasn’t for the interaction with タシン, this would’ve easily been a 4 or...

Premium stay at a Budget price I booked a standard single non-smoking room for 3 nights in March - at a very good price. I asked for - and got- a high floor room away from the elevator. I also got a beautiful view of the harbour. The room had all the normal offerings & a fair size for a single room. Nice touches like fine porcelain cups, real spoons and a daily bottle of water provided. The bed was comfortable enough. (Japan hotel beds everywhere as a rule seem to be on the hard side.) The room was serviced every day, The marble (look or real?) lobby is massive & tranquil, the bakery - fabulous - though most baked goods don't arrive until 10am. Unfortunately you can't open a window, but the air-conditioner works well and is pretty quiet & you can adjust temperature setting. And the big window view makes up for it. I could not hear my neighbours - always a plus! I loved that I was out of the busy-ness of the CBD, but only a 10-15 minute walk away from the main shopping areas - yet oh so close to trains and ferries. Would I stay here again - absolutely! (Assuming I could get a reasonable rate)

Very decent hotel located right next to takamatsu station. We accidentally booked a triple room and we paid for 3 persons’ room fee though we only have 2 people living there. Nevertheless, the triplet room has a harbour view which we think was worth paying for the extra fee. The room was clean and tidy and we were politely reminded by the cleaning staff to hang our card for them to clean our room in the afternoon. The front desk staff are very caring and helpful. For example, I lost my room card and the hotel staff gave me an extra card in the middle of the night, she told us that we could keep this card until we leave. Also, the front desk staff provided detailed guidance to us when we asked them about nearby restaurants and the way to reach Shodoshima. Also, the breakfast was delicious and filling. The food was specially prepared to fit the culture of Shikoku, like hiroshima donburi and udon, they provided ice cream and pancakes for dessert. All in all, this hotel is worth visiting again. For areas to improve, hope this hotel could indicate clearly the fee for triplet rooms.
