Merikenya Takamatsu Ekimae — Local services in Takamatsu

The board says they are rank 4 so it must be good! I order a Yamaimo (山芋) Bukkake (ぶっかけ) udon which is a cold noodle with a cup of grated yam, sticky and yummy!

Also adding a tempura Toriten (fried chicken breast), total ¥550.

I want it more!!! It’s so yummy! OMG so good why! It’s chewy and light in taste and smooth in the mouth, the slurping sound, it keep going and going! It’s so good with my stomach!

And tempura chicken! So crunchy and juicy inside? OMG why! Why I get to eat such amazing noodle! I cannot leave Kagawa!!! Oh no! Please gimme!

After getting sober from culinary ecstasy, I walked out with a smile and continue to the shopping street to see more...

はるばる東京都北の果て足立区から、香川県高松市に10数年ぶりにフラリと来た。 高松駅前は以前よりオサレでモダン化した感がある。 コンパクトでモダンな駅ビルは山陽、関西圏からの観光客の買物で賑わっている。 そんな高松駅前南口を出て、右手の交差点にあるコンビニのミニストップの右隣に 「めりけんや 高松駅前」さんはある。薄い黄色の下地に黒くドデカく「さぬきうどん」と書いてあり、 嫌でもうどん屋だとわかる。

個人的な意見だが、東京には美味いうどん屋さんがあまりないと思う。 あったとしても地方の会社が経営する支店みたいな店ばかりだ。 よって、「東京うどん」ってのがほぼ無いので、私自身「うどん、食べたいなぁ～。」と 感じる事は殆ど無い。

前回訪れた時も「セルフ方式」とか勉強して行くのが面倒くさくて食べずに帰った。 「うどん県の人達」から見たら、私は失礼な奴なのだ。

で、私も年をとり今回は素直にうどん県の名物「讃岐うどん」を食して帰ろうと思った。 だが、前回行けなかった「こんぴらさん」とか「天空の鳥居」とか あちゃこちゃ行ってる内に時間が無くなってしまい、帰る間際に高松駅前の こちらでギリ食す事が出来た。

時間帯関係なく開店時からひっきりなしに客（観光客含む）が入ってくるが、 店内はかなり広く、テーブル席からカウンター席等、かなりのキャパで、 回転も早く長時間待たされる行列は殆ど無い。

This was my first time in Takamatsu and I heard udon is good around here, I was also certainly starving for a good meal since I climbed Takaya Shrine before getting here and I felt it was well deserved.

I searched for the closest udon shop to the station and I found this. I ordered a medium udon set since I know I'd be opting for a bigger dinner tonight anyway! Food was good, service was fast, tables were clean!

Thanks for the first meal in Takamatsu Meriken-ya!
