I came to this restaurant after choosing Clement as the venue for our wedding, but now I have concerns about the food for our guests. The best of the restaurant is the view. As a fine dinning restaurant the customer service was bad, we didn't get enough explanation about the dishes and we cannot ask about them because the server was there just to bring the food (even though we were the only table when we arrived). I was a bit disappointed from the course menu, the design of the dishes feels like it was randomly assembled, it had unmatching flavors for a French restaurant and the sauces were very light. Don't expect to get hot food, because this is a cold menu course, the only hot item was the steak (this was the only item on the course that we enjoyed). The wine menu lacks of explanation, this was the first time I see a wine menu which not includes the variety of the grapes and the waiter was not able to recommend us a pairing wine. The chocolate cake's taste was similar to what I can get at the grocery store. The worst of my expirience was the noise coming from the bar above, I was not able to talk with my wife due to the ongoing noise, I feel that sharing space with the bar affects the whole experience. You can find much better fine dinning options on this range of price...
Read moreThe food was decent (although it was a bit of an odd mix between Italian and French cuisines) - nicely put together on the plates - and the service was swift and friendly.
The restaurant itself has seen better days and you can tell that the building overall has been around for quite some time and a renovation couldn't hurt. It felt a bit old and stuffy but the view is of course fantastic.
Pricewise, it feels like you're not getting the most fantastic value but I'd assume that there are not that many "fine dining" places in Takamatsu so you gotta take what you can get.
The wine pairing was interesting (sparkling, white, red) although the red wine was very cold - a trend I have seen in many Japanese restaurants, for some reason.
Overall, if you want to celebrate something or have a nice night out, going to Fiore is arguably a decent way of spending a night, albeit not an...
