東京櫻子 Hatchobori — Hotel in Tokyo

Unclean hotel with terrible attitudes and lots of construction noise We booked and stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in Tokyo and it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. It was so bad that I even considered forfeit my money to and move to another one. This hotel has a number of serious issues. I would recommend you to STAY AWAY and avoid this hotel. Here are the list of issues: Not cleaned properly. Upon entering the room, we noticed some dust and tiny debris on the wooden cabin next to window where people can sit. When I went to bathroom, I noticed there’s sticky glue like thing on the toilet’s seat. There are even hair in the refrigerator, not to mention other small problems which I chose to overlook, such as dirty window, stained carpet and dusty corners. Terrible attitudes from the hotel manager. After noticing these issues, I went downstairs to tell the manager and ask for a mop cloth, but immediately, the hotel manager became overly defensive and claimed I was the one with problem. The hotel manager is a male Japanese that speaks English. He basically told me “so what do you want???” and that I have too high of a standard. He also questioned whether I am a professional cleaner or not, and ask if I have problem with every hotels that I stayed in. He definitely wanted to start a fight with me and keep denying any responsibilities. Loud construction tremor from 8am – 6pm. The building next to the hotel is demolishing, so there are non-stop noise starting as early as 8am in the morning. It will make your entire room shaking. Prior to our check in, we only receive an email saying there are some construction noises during the day from 10am to 6pm, but this is beyond what we can imagine. The hotel manager told us it’s from 9am to 6pm but again he became extremely defensive when we told him. He basically started the whole thing of “what do you want?” We told him we considered moving out early and asked for a partial refund if possible. His immediate response was filled with joy. He said “feel free to move out” but he’s not going to give us anything. Later during our stay, he seems quite disappointed that we didn’t actually move out early and asked us why we didn’t go early. I won’t go back there anymore as the male hotel manager was so rude and racist. We checked out on 31/7, my friend asked the staff online that if we can keep our luggage at the reception as our flight was night time and we still wanted to go shopping a bit, they said yes they can keep our luggage till the end of working hours. While I returned to reception around 15:00, there were two Japanese sitting on the chair at the reception. The hotel manager was nice and polite to them while they talking. I asked the hotel manager to give me my small suitcase so that I can pack the things I just bought from shopping centre into it before leaving. He gave me the suitcase and later on, after the two Japanese left, he pushed out all of the rest of our luggage and told me they will affect other people to check in. (There was no one check in the whole time when I was there.) In fact, he left the luggage near the main door, which I think will affect people in and out. I said ok and kept packing. Meanwhile he came out of the desk and checked on me. After a while my friend came in, we both sat on the chair and had a bit snack cuz I didn’t have lunch at all and my friend booked a taxi. Before we left, we asked him if we could leave the rubbish here (one small bag of general rubbish and one small bag of recycling rubbish) he took over the general one and said “this is not a restaurant” and refused to take the recycling one. So I went out to look for rubbish bin by myself. Surprisingly I found a rubbish bin just around the corner. After I returned to reception to wait for taxi, he came over to us and said”this is not a library, this is no good. This is not the place you should stay” I was so surprised and asked him why we can’t stay here, he said “ because you check out time is 10am, and you shouldn’t leave the rubbish here after check out”. I told him that we are leaving several times and he still kept saying the same thing. I would definitely teach him a lesson about hotel customer service and good manner if I didn’t have to rush for my flight. I highly recommend people not going there if you have other choices. Disappointing Stay at Hatchobori Hotel in Tokyo

I arrived at Hatchobori Hotel, not expecting anything fancy, just a simple, clean place to rest after a long trip. But the moment I walked into the bathroom, I was hit by an overwhelming smell of urine. It was clear it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. There were hairs and other unappealing things around the toilet, which made it even worse.

As I looked around, I noticed the corners of the room were covered in dust, and there were stains on the carpet and walls. It felt like the room had been forgotten about, and no one cared to clean it properly.

Desperate to leave, I went to reception asking to check out, but I was informed of their no-refund policy, leaving me stuck in a place I didn’t expect. I then explained the bathroom issue to reception and was promised it would be taken care of. But after 9 days, nothing changed.

On the positive side, the staff were friendly, and they were good about changing the bedding and offered clean towels as well as some bathroom amenities at reception. While it didn’t fix the bigger issues, it was a nice touch and appreciated.

If cleanliness and comfort are important to you, I’d suggest finding somewhere else to stay. My experience at Hatchobori Hotel was a huge letdown, and I won’t...
