If you're considering the hotel purely for its location then go for it. You'll find a tonne of dining options, convenience stores, and district highlights all within 5-10 minutes walking distance, not to mention the all-important train station. A Family Mart and Lawsons are right across the street, whereas the famous Don Quijote is a little further out and takes you past plenty of hobby shops (supervise your kids, if any). A Starbucks is nearby, too, though I implore you to walk a little further and visit the excellent Kielo Coffee instead. All in all, a great base camp to explore Akihabara from -- and to store your precious loot! The hotel lobby is on the building's 3rd floor, with elevators and guest queues moving pretty quickly. The concierges are friendly and speak English well enough, should you have any requests. You'll find a money changing machine here, amenities such as bath sponges and cotton buds, as well as some small lockers and the coin laundromat a little further in. The lockers are important to know because the rooms do not have a safe.As for the room itself, they're... decent. We got a double room that was just comfortable enough for two and some luggage, provided there's loads of communication about who is going where or doing what. We expected it to be small and the view is pretty much forgettable. What we're docking points for is the sheer amount of dust in there, which only gets worse the closer you inspect things. Thankfully, the linens and bathroom were clean for the most part. You use one of three magnetic signs on the door to indicate what you'd like housekeeping to do: no room cleaning (which doubles as a do not disturb), place clean towels on door knob, and clean the room. You're pretty much here for business (read: eating and shopping) so don't expect any other facilities. Each floor has a vending machine that only accepts coins and cash, a ticketing machine for frisky pay-per-view TV shows at 1,000 yen a pop, and a trouser press. If you really are here for business then you'll want to head elsewhere to work, as the room is simply too small and there is no lounge. They serve breakfast on the second floor, but we felt there were far more exciting eateries in the area to give up one of our meals there. You should also know they offer an automated wake-up call service through the in-room phone, which might have been exciting back in the day but feels a little dated now. Still, you should try it -- you'll get both Japanese and English greetings, and it sure as heck is louder than your phone's alarm. We're unlikely to return and would rather deal with the train crowds to get to nicer accommodation. Separately, I sent an inquiry email after our stay and have not heard a thing since (not even an automated 'thanks we'll get back to you in x business days') so that's something else...
Read moreThe location of this hotel is very good. Its just opposite JR Akihabara station which is like less than 5 mins walk. Good if you want to stay within Akihabara as the price is not that high also.
The good of this hotel is I personally like the check in time of 2pm and check out time of 11am which is like earlier and later compared to most hotels which is 3pm check in and 10am check out. The services of the staffs and cleaners are very good and polite as they always greet and smile when I see them.
The hotel room size is decent and its equipped with a queen size bed which I feel is big enough for 2 even though I was a solo traveller.
The aircon also comes with heater function so its good even if you're staying during winter time. I stayed on the 11th floor so the view is actually not bad also.
Some of the cons of this room is that the fridge inside the room is abit small as I bought a 2 litre bottle of water and it wasn't able to fit into the fridge.
The TV is not a smart tv so I was not able to watch youtube or other OTT services but it was not an issue for me as there are tons of TV channels to watch.
The table in the room is abit small if you want to work in the room or want to have a meal in the room as its just a small round table or if you want to put things on the table after a day out.
There are alot of restaurants and convenience stores around so there will not be any problems to look for food and drinks. There's even 2 starbucks right across the street so its easy to get your coffee fix everyday.
Overall it was a good staying experience with a good price. Will stay again if I want to stay...
