We booked the rooms via A*a, and apparently there is some miscommunication and we were given a smoking room on our first night. However the hotel staff were polite and apologetic that they can't change the room for us immediately as the hotel was fully booked, but they changed us to a non-smoking room the following night.
Room size is small as expected for a 3 star hotel in Tokyo. We could sleep comfortably on the double bed, and there is enough floor space to open up our suit case (although if both are open, there is almost no space to walk). Hard for both to wash get ready at the same time in the morning but you could always head to the public bath on 12 floor to do so.
We really appreciate having the onsen after full day of sight seeing. The free ice cream in the evening and free yogurt drink in the morning is a nice end and start to our days. Free ramen at night was simple but definitely better than having to eat instant noodles. You can easily get water and ice, hot/cold coffee and tea from the dispensers on 2nd floor which is so convenient and time saving than having to boil water in your own room.
All basic toiletries are provided including hotel robes (top + pants) and slippers. There is also free use of washer on 12 floor. Dryer is available at 100 yen per 20min, and there is pant presser (although we didn't use them). So technically, you can just check in with the clothes on your back if you happen to be stranded nearby.
Location wise is great if you are huge anime or gaming fan -- there are loads of adult shops as well as maid cafes within walking distance. Otherwise, subway station (Ginza line) is just couple min walk away and you could easily ride to Ginza / Shibuya / Shinjuku area in...
Read moreLocation: Subway that connects other popular areas is literally just around the corner (it's less than 1 minute walk to it). This means that you can reach all the touristy areas within 30 minutes (walk+subway), which is great! There is also a 7-Eleven on the ground floor for any midnight snacks or smoothies.
Service: The staff are kind and helpful, the reception is open 24/7 and they went above and beyond during every interaction. They have an option of not cleaning the room (I.e. changing the sheets) daily, which I find amazing as it saves everyone the unnecessary hassle. You do get clean towels daily, which is perfectly sufficient (and more eco friendly) in my opinion. There is also a laundry area, so you can do your own laundry - washing was free, tumble drying was charged (pay coins to the machine)
Rooms: There's a welcome (complimentary) snack waiting for you in the room, the room is also equipped with everything needed (shampoo & conditioner, shower gel, slippers, pyjamas, dental kit, shaving kit ...). The room is not a massive one, but from reading other reviews around Tokyo, this seems to be a standard size. It was big enough for 2 people not to walk over each other and we were able to open the suitcase.
Spa: The public baths and sauna were clean, the area around them was also kept clean and tidy. The sauna is set to 100°C and is scented (lemongrass and something else).

Read moreExcellent hotel. The rooms are not far from the elevator, and the elevator is easily accessible from the entrance. There is a 7-11 next door and a train station nearby. The train station connects directly to Tokyo station - extremely convenient. The busy streets of Akihabara are within walking distance, but the hotel itself does not feel crowded whatsoever. The location can be a bit noisy. I frequently heard ambulances coming and going from my room on the 8th floor. I could also hear the Kanda Matsuri when I stayed. But it was very manageable. I did not have issues with other guests or the gentle music that plays in the public space throughout the hotel (which I find is unique among Japanese hotels). The room was very nice. It did not feel cramped. There was adequate lighting. It was clean and did not smell. It is really worth the price. The breakfast was decent. It wouldn't be wrong to include it in your booking. The onsen is nice. It's simple, quiet, and effective. Tip: unlike other onsens, towels are not provided in the changing room, so remember to bring your own from your own room. The staff was excellent. They handled my luggage nicely. Check-in and check-out was very easy with them.
I really liked how convenient everything was, from the elevator to the room to the onsen to Akiba and to the train station. I wish I stayed...
