I’ve been waiting to write a review since staying here . It’s interesting to read other reviews, of the host, Mr Mizu. I found him a bit odd, but not in a friendly way. I’ve spent many a time in Japan and they are super friendly . So was he, but as I said, odd. He was very abrupt at times. Ordered men to sit on the toilet , i understand noise at night time , but this was his personal OCD annoyance . He’d interrupt constantly and you could feel his presence observing and watching over your every move. There’s no escaping this as you come in through the door. And he’s there hovering. He also sleeps with everyone in the small sleeping area, so trust me if you make any sounds , he’ll be sure to let you know. The hot spring onsen however close by was lovely , full of friendly locals . There was a stand up bar which had great welcoming regulars as well. Shame Mr Mizu wasn’t the same. I’m so glad when I read some others say similar on reviews as I felt uneasy there and I speak with everyone. On a + though the price is very reasonable if you don’t mind him constantly hawking and looking at your every move . Not just at night as he lies with everyone . But even at noon or afternoon . The train stations on the Y line connects everywhere conveniently, so you’re never too far from the local sites though. For me personally, it’s not central Tokyo, however the price is good and it’s very easy to get into the popular site seeing areas. Just don’t forget the last train home, otherwise you’ll be stuck until 5/6am the...

The owner mans the front desk here for about 3 hrs a day.||||6. No one cleans the TOILETS. I was here for 2 weeks. Streaks in toilets. A whiff of urine in the bathroom & nearby lounge area.||7. The microwave has solidified gunk beneath the turntable. No one cleans it.||8. The sink has a catch of food waste. No one empties it.||9. There's a NOISY sliding door separating the bedroom of 24 beds w/the bathroom. Noisy as hell. Back & forth. Back & forth.||10. The wifi cannot reach the farthest cubicles.||11. The bedroom floors are carpeted which is a bad choice for a hostel since bedbugs can hide there and the carpet is NEVER steam cleaned. Very bad choice.||||I give this place 5 stars becuz it is the cheapest in Tokyo & well located. It's also way way better than any hostel in New Dehli, India. But the owner has to take ownership of his hostel. Clean the showers and toilets. At least splash bleach on the walls and floors of the showers and toilets. Urine splatters on the bowl and floor when guests urinate. Can't you smell it? ...
